View Full Version : Sad caution about person demanding tapes...

I received numerous e-mails today from a person who refused to give his/her name, but was very demanding and pointed about a long list of tapes he/she wanted. The tapes were wanted to be done a specific way, on specific tapes -- and he/she was extremely interested in how fast I could get them to him/her.

I repsonded by saying that some of what he/she wanted were not on my list, also that I didn't feel I could supply what he/she wanted and ended with a friendly suggestion that he/she post at one of the forums listing his/her request -- that this might bring the results wanted.

At that point this person apparently became angry and sent several nasty posts to me, one of which stated that I shouldn't offer tapes if I couldn't do them, and I won't even tell you some of the other things this person said, it was very childish and unkind.

As I am sure is the case with many of you, I do the tapes as a labor of love, to share what I have with others. I certainly don't do it to make money! Nor do I do it expecting to have to put up with nastiness being flung to me via the internet!

Just a caution to others out there -- beware of someone who wants a long list of tapes, might come in several posts, wants them SP -- from SP tapes (not all of mine are) -- and wants EXCEPTIONAL quality and wants them at a very fast turn-around time frame. This person uses the term "Bullet" and "Form Q" -- as in corporate buisness.

I'm afraid I am just not "corporate" enough for this person!

Take care everyone -- and have happy days.
:)

(((((HUGS))))) to you Kathy. :eek

Sorry you have had to deal with another psycho regarding tapes. You are amazing in doing those tapes for the huge fans (like me) who usually get like a million and you don't deserve to be treated that way at ALL. :( You are in my thoughts and prayers. What a weird thing though his/her requests were though too. :eek Take care of yourself and talk to you later.

I am sorry to hear that you have had this experience. I haven't bought any tapes from you but I have from Cherie and I am so greatful to be able to get them and see Michelle's earlier performances that I missed or only have a dim (but fond) memory of. We are all so appreciative of your and Cherie's efforts. Take care.

Thank you to those who have had kind thoughts for me. I'm fine, I just wanted to try to warn others out there of this person.

I neglected to put in my post that I am very sure this person is not from this forum. I have received a personal post from someone I don't know at all, but who saw my warning on a different forum. This person said it sounded very familiar -- someone who has used numerous different names, gets tapes from people then complains that the quality isn't good enough and demands refunds, etc. This is someone who has been harassing many people who are simply trying to share their tapes with others.

You know the old saying -- it takes all kinds!

I'm sorry you had to deal with this. You are so nice to make your tapes available to people who have missed some of these classic performances (including me) and I know how much work it can be. I hope that person is an exception because I know there are a lot of skating fans who really appreciate your thoughtfulness.

I think I have dealt with the person once and never traded with that person again:wink

I'm very sorry that you are being harrassed!
You are the last person that should be maligned like this.
