MK Wallpaper....and a rant about Photoshop...UGH!!

Well I tried making a wallpaper in photoshop. You can see it here (http://img18.photobucket.com/albums/v54/felicia__nicole/Dreams.jpg)

But I must say that Photoshop is the most frustrating graphics program ever. It took me 30 min just to make this simple wallpaper. I could have done it in less than 5 min with PSP. I can't do any of the things in photshop that I can do in PSP..I couldn't even find out how to switch back and forth between layers. there's no layers toolbox or anything :( Ugh. Sorry I'm just so frustrated because I really wanted to learn Photshop, but I think I give up. I taught myself PSP with no problem, and I thought teaching myself Photoshop would be just as easy, but I guess not. Anyway rant over. Hope you guys enjoy the wallpaper

Don't give up, GoldenMichelle; I can help. I made the switch from PSP to PS a few years ago, so I understand your fustration. Now that I have gotten used to Photoshop, I would never use PSP to do anything.

Layers
- First you have to see them. Go to Window and make sure the "Layers" item is checked. If it isn't, then you should see it pop open somewhere within Photoshop. It's about the 6th item from the bottom.
- On the Layer pallot, you should see an icon beside the trash can (it's on the bottom right) where you can create a new layer. You can also do this by going to the Layer Menu-> Layer-> New Layer. You should see an empty Layer Two now.
- Experiment a little with copy and pasting an image into an image because for me, that was the easiest way to see how things worked differently.

* This was the hardest thing for me to get at first; to move a layer, you must make sure it is selected first in Layer Pallot before you can do anyting. For me, that was the key to unlocking PS for me.

^^ BatonKwan is right, if you learned PSP then you'll learn PS too. http://instagiber.net/smiliesdotcom/kao/otn/pblob6.gif I'm with him/her, too -- I have both programs, but I've gotten so used to PS that I don't think I could do anything on PSP to save my life now. :p The whole concept of layers is kind of like wtf at first, but eventually you'll get so used to it that you won't even think twice about it. Just keep experimenting and playing around, and things will start clicking and falling into place.

Okay...well now that I know how to pull up the layer pallett. That should help me some. I'll give it another try. I'm sorry about the rant, I was just really frustrated.

Kind of... Michelle has such a cute and distinct nose. If I wasn't in the MKF, then I may wonder a little:) I simply love the idea and overall look of this one, though.

okay I was just wondering. I found that pic online though I and I loved the compositon and simplicity of it and just knew I had to make a wallpaper out of it.
