Bag size (http://www.fsuniverse.net/forum/showthread.php?s=&threadid=4346)
Found this info on FSU. If you don't have access, in a nutshell is says that at least at the MCI Center, they have a plywood box where they ask people to place their bag to make sure it fits. It appears to be the same dimension as the bag size as stated in the FAQ on the Worlds site. I guess my issue will be just how much food can I stuff in the bag and still have it fit? :eek Looks like I am going to need to take a jacket with more pockets to transfer food from after going through security...

For the unregistered, that's:
13"x6"x9.5"
And one of the attendees verified that her bag, which she measured as being just smaller than those dimensions, just barely fit.

I was there today - I will be posting a report shortly - and my backpack purse - slightly deeper than the requirement but smaller in length and width - got in w/o a problem (I did, too :) ). No one made me put it in something - they just looked inside for about 3 seconds. Security at the C Ctr was a little tighter - more on that in my report - but still no problems with my bag, my plastic bottle of water, or my banana.

I wonder if the only people that are having bags measured via the box are ones who have a bag that looks like it might be larger than the size restrictions? Did you see anyone have to put their bag in something?
I also wonder if security will get stricter as the weekend progresses and more people arrive?
Oh well, I just bought an obnoxious cloth bag with hot pink flamingos. I think it is malleable enough to fit in a box if I am asked. Plus everyone will be able to pick me out in a crowd. :b

Both venues had the boxes today, except they didn't appear to be using them at the C Ctr., except maybe for bags that looked big. At MCI, I put my bag in sideways - it's a backpack purse that is a little deeper but not as long or wide as the limit. After all, the bagt doesn't have to fit in the same direction you carry it - it just has to fit in some way.
A woman with a purse that poked out of the box by several inches was allowed to go in, but they may have allowed her in just for today b/c she was there.
Still no problem with my bottled water, but the guy did make me move them items around and identify them, and had me open my wallet. I jokingly asked him if he was making sure I was over 21.
