I posted this in Spoilers but will also post here...hoping to hear from some of you!!!

There are two blocks of time set aside for short program practices on Thursday at the Convention Center. I assume this means that each skater can choose to do just one or none or both, but I was wondering if anyone out there has a good guess as to what Michelle will do that day. Since there is no doubt that she'll be in the top six and therefore in the last group of skaters, she would be assigned to the 3:00-3:35 slot and the 6:45-7:20 PM slot. I can only make it to the afternoon session due to child care constraints, but I really don't feel like going through all the trouble to get there if she's not going to skate during that time and would instead make an effort to attend the short program itself. Just wondering if any of you very informed and intelligent people have any information that would help me make this decision. I thank you very, very much in advance!!! And, Go Michelle!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm not sure, but I think that skaters are already in SP practice groups, or maybe after the qualifying rounds skaters will be put into diferent groups, but you should be able to find out Michelle's group and which time slot her group has the ice. This info might be on the Worlds page. I'm sorry I couldn't help you more!

Are the ladies skating their SP on Thursday? If so I am just saying that at Nationals a lot of the skaters (and Michelle was one of them) did not attend the practices on the days they actually had events. At Nationals there was a short 20 minute practice during the day of their event and they did skate those, but they didn't skate the regular practice sessions. I don't know if it will be the same for Worlds. I just know a lot of skaters sometimes take it easy for practices on the days they have events. They have certain competition routines that they follow (ie certain hours of sleep, eat certain foods at certain times, etc), and if the pracitce schedule conflicts with their competition routine, they may skip it. If it comes down to going to see a practice or the SP, I would definately reccomend the SP, because you know for sure she will be there. For practices it is always iffy. Even if a skater is planning to go to a practice, sometimes at the last minute they change their mind.

From what I saw on the schedule, there are TWO ladies practices Thursday both listed as "SP/LP", so they should be able to choose which one for both practices, most likely SP at one practice LP at the other.

The SP isn't until Friday, so I would expect she'll attend at least one of the sessions Thursday, probably both, but no certainty, I guess.

If the ladies SP is Friday, then I would guess that she would be at both practices on Thursday.

I know it's hard to predict, but I'm hoping that someone will be privy to some reliable intelligence regarding this. I have tickets for the LP practice on Saturday which is the day of the actual event, but I'm hoping that Michelle will be there. I attended Worlds in Japan last year and she was at the practice that took place the day of the LP, so I'm thinking that she'll do the same this year. Let's keep our fingers crossed! Anyway, if anyone else has anything to contribute, I would be very happy to hear from you!

Thank you again!

I don't have any additional information, but I am hoping she will be at the Sat. practice also since I bought a ticket for that also.
