row 3! you must be so excited.

maybe afterwards we can all wait for skaters to leave? haha, i know that's not always very gratifying at the first union center, since you can't get all that close... but it's worth a shot!

5 DAYS!!

I replied in the other thread too but I'll add to this one as well!

I'm excited because of the great seats I managed to get--section 113 (center ice), row 4, seats 5-8. i had ordered throught the presale, and the seats weren't that great, so I tried again in January, and scored 4th row. I was thrilled. It will be amazing to see Michelle from that close view.

We ordered the very first second you could order them, and we got 9th row. Lucky you in the 3rd and 4th rows. ;) We're in section 124, row 9, seats 11 & 12. Wish there was more time in between Worlds and COI.

So... what are we doing??? I've never been there before and so I have NO idea as to how these things work...

My mom wanted to know (actually she wants to bring) a "cloth" banner to say soemthing on it for Michelle... she said we can make it out of cloth and then we can roll it up and put it into her bag that she's bringing along. Is there any limit as to the size of your purse/bag that you bring in?
Do the lights turn on bright enough for Michelle to see a sign in the 25th row?
Does anyone have backstage passes? (how the heck can you get them for next year??????LOL!)
You can't throw anything out onto the ice correct?? This isn't a competition!LOL! (just making sure so that I can say to my mom "yes i'm positive! the ppl at MKF said you can't!")
Oh. what are ya'll wearing??? tehehehehe.. I'm TRYING to plan. but it's kinda hard.... LOL!!!!! What time do the dorrs open? when do the skaters get there? (I know I'm asking questions yoiu might not have answers to... but anyone who has bveen there before can help me... or I think so anyways... I can't wait.)
Can you take pics? DIGI pics? (brother has Dig. cam)
how much are the "refreshments" at the Center??
I think thats all of my questions.....

2 more WHOLE days left!!!!!!!!!!!!

Angels Babe, I'll try to answer some of your questions.

I'd bring a cloth banner, but pack it discreetly. I don't know how well Michelle will be able to see it, but you can bring it just in case. I've waved my "Todd" pennant at various shows and have had no problem from the 9th row, although I know someone who tried waving hers from about the 18th row and was told to put it away. She didn't listen, and waved it later.

We bring our own snacks (bottled water, soft pretzels, cookies) because the prices are expensive. Again we pack things as discreetly as possible. Soda can cost at least $3.00. We can't pack too much, of course, because we need room in our tote bag for binoculars, cameras, etc.

You can take pictures, but with no flash! We just got a digital camera recently, and used it as SOI with no problem. Some of our pictures came out clearly; others were blurry. We try to take pictures of the skaters when they're taking their bows. They skate by so quickly that it is sometimes hard to capture their movement on the ice without the blurriness. BTW, we just got our Worlds pictures back. The competition pictures came out better than the exhibition ones. Maybe that has something to do with the lighting. I don't know.

I wish there was a way to get backstage passes!

People have brought flowers to the venue. I think they are most successful at the end of the show when they have a chance to give the flowers or stuffed animals directly to the skater (if you're lucky enough to have that skater come by to your section after the finale). I got to do this at COI 2000. We had 2nd row center ice seats, and I was able to give Michelle a beanie baby when she skated back to our section.

The weather on Saturday will still be cool for a spring day. I plan to wear a long sleeved top with my brand new t-shirt from Worlds over it. You may want to wear a long sleeved shirt with a sweatshirt and jeans. Most people dress pretty casually.

I don't know for sure, but my guess is that they start letting people enter about an hour before showtime (Philly showtime is 2 PM, so that would be about 1 PM). You want to arrive with time to spare, to get settled in, use the restrooms, buy a program/other souvenirs, etc.

Most importantly, have a blast at the show!

Thanks iluvtodd!! LOL!... I know a few of thoose questions were ODD ones... bu thats me.. binoculars??? do you really need them? how far away is the 20th row?? pretty far?? I hope not.... Oh well...

Geez. I just check on TM again to see what kinda tickets are being sold... section 103. Row 14... oy. *rolls eyes*

Angels Babe, I would definitely bring binoculars to the show, since you're sitting quite a few rows back. I wonder if it would even be worth it to bring a camera and take pictures from that distance. Do you have a zoom (telephoto) lens. If you don't, then I wouldn't even bother bringing the camera.

I'm amazed that we got 16th row seats this time. We ordered the tickets on the internet the day after the show when tickets went on sale. Last year, we ordered tickets the next day, and we got 2nd row. The year before, we got 4th row. Go figure! I just don't understand how they assign the tickets.

I'm pretty sure my brothers' cam has zoom on it.. can you even take a norm camera and the pics turn out alright?? I'm thinking of bringing both... (is it OK to cover up the flash before you take a picture with a DIGI cam because my bro's cam. doesn't have a "flash off" thing...

Thanks for your responses!!! (silly me.. can you tell I've NEVER been to a show before??? LOL!)

Cool! I've written down everyone's seats so if we get there early enough I'll try and track some of you down. Heather may be difficult since she's on the opposite side of the complex!

And Pattibear is kinda far over too, but we'll see. I didn't order a ribbon (been so busy, I forgot) but I'm really short (under 5 ft), have dark brown hair about to my shoulders, pale-skinned, I'm 28 but most say I look a lot younger! I'll probably be wearing jeans, black boots, and a black hooded sweatshirt or my red pea jacket, depending on the weather. So if anyone sees me please say hi! I've never met any MFKers in person before (at least I don't think I have...)

I'm so excited to see Michelle this soon after her Worlds win. Last year I was still upset over the Olympics...but this year it's just happiness.

SKATEBERRY: Which section are you sitting in? you only posted you were sitting 3rd row.. (not to helpful considering there are like 25 3rd rows...) and also... what seats?

OK... time to get serious considering in 24 hours this will be over...

WHERE are we going to meet?

WHEN?

I say we meet somewhere at sometime (real specific right?)

I have never been to this place before and so I'm without a map or without a memory of the arena..

As long as someone here has been there before and can remember exactly where some kind of meeting point can be .... I sya we go for it.. Everyone wants to meet each other correct? I've been waiting for some days for this to be seriously discussed... I can't beleive it hasn't.

I have to get get some stuff together for tomorrow.. I'll continually check back here untill around 10:30 AM tom. (sat)

Thanks!

Skate517,pattibear,skateberry,iluvtodd, and yazmeen...

Geez! I didn't meet ya'll!!

To all the people I DID meet and told where I was sitting (this is GREAT!) my mom and I switched to second row (section 106) seats. :) Hey! The seats were WIDE open and we waited untill the first pair skaters were up (after nicole.. i think) then we moved. we were gonna try and get 1st row in section 112 (i think... next to the older lady - gray hair and blue sweater- but someone else took thoose seats during inter.) But it was awesome! I'll post my report in another thread tomorrow prolly.. I've got lots to do.. *DON'T FORGET TO SET YOUR CLOCKS TONIGHT!!!*

Beth-LOL, I didn't see this thread before the show! Sorry, if I had known I would have come over sooner. ;) I came back after the break through the other side of the row, so I wouldn't have to climb over you again, LOL. BTW, I love those vests. I was thinking hard about getting them when I was there, but I already had spent too much on Worlds merchandise. ;)

Angelsbabe-It was great to meet you! How cool that you got those seats. There were seats in the second row I could have moved down to, but I didn't. Stupid me. ;) Did you enjoy your first show? :)

Sorry about those I didn't meet up with.
