This may have already been covered in another thread, but just in case it isn't, I wanted to thank Pamby for all the hard work that went into planning the pre-LP dinner. It was a great chance to meet a lot of MKF people and the food was fantastic. Thanks for all your efforts!

I'll be fifth! Thank you so much, Pamby! I know these things are NOT easy to pull together and you did it with patience and style. It was a wonderful opportunity for so many of us to finally get together and meet. I'll always be grateful to you for allowing me to meet my best friend in Oklahoma, gotspeedyfingers and her Super Mom!
Straight 6.0's to Pamby!

Heather's just saying that because she got a free meal. LOL Just Kidding.
Pamby,
You did a great job organizing the dinner and also helping others with the basics of DC. The success of this MKF dinner was totally a result of your hard word. I raise my glass for a toast in your honor. Thanks again.

You're welcome!
It was great to meet you all! Sorry I didn't have more of a chance to talk with some of you.
And it was a novel experience to pay a $1200 restaurant bill in cash!
Oh, and thanks for buying me the drink, Dave. By that point I needed it!

A biggg thanks to you Pamby! I was so happy to meet so many wonderful people from all over the country! I was happy to sign the card for Francis who is over seas risking her life for us. Maybe I'll find out more about her from you one day.Maybe you can tell us about her?
Dinner was fun, thanks for all your hard work!

And I got to meet the "famous" davesato. Scheherazade, sorry I missed you--darn!

MadAboutKwan,
It was good meeting you too. Let me just say to everyone who was hoping I would get slapped in the face by a MKFer for my forum personality and antics, MadaboutKwan gave me the toughest growling-type look when she first met me. It was priceless and it was something I was expecting from someone, I just didn't know who was going to show me an honest reaction. I got a lot of "oh... you're him" type of reactions, but MadAboutKwan's expression could melt an iceberg. I'm talking about the Titanic still being afloat. It was that priceless.

I really can't tell you much about Francis (who is a "he" by the way) other than to say I was deeply touched when Corbon 91 posted in mid-January that he was being shipped out to the Persian Gulf. (I know that some of the west coast forum members actually know Francis; Ginny Smith told me in DC that she had met him and he is a very nice guy.) Francis is a Marine corporal who had been stationed at Camp Pendleton; Francis gave us his military address and said he would love to hear any news about Michelle. I wrote him a note and he wrote back to me, saying hi to everyone on the forum and said he was doing well and other than the sandstorms and cold nights, things weren't too bad (this was before the fighting actually started).
I sent the card to him yesterday along with the sports section of the USA Today that had Michelle's Chevy Ad so I hope he enjoys that! I sent him some other goodies as well (candies, tissues, etc.) I signed the card, "For Corporal Francis Monsada, signed by members of the MK Forum at Tony Cheng's Restaurant, H Street, Washington DC, on March 29, 2003 the night Michelle won her 5th World Title." I'm going to send him some of my Worlds pictures when I finish going through them.
Francis's address is:
CPL Monsada, F. J., USMC
CSSB-18 (Supply Co - Admin)
UIC 42389
FPO AP 96426-2389
I'm sure he'd love to hear from you!

How nice of you! I don't know Francis personally, but I'd be happy to send him a card and maybe some associated MK or other treats. I've packed up some packages for my brother in law whose reserve unit has been called up as well so it's easy enough to prepare a second package at the same time. I don't know if he'll think it's odd to get stuff from people he doesn't really know, but I'd bet under those circumstances any mail is appreciated. I'm getting my pictures back as well so I'll see if there is anything there he'd like.

I spent time with Francis at Nationals last year, and he's a great guy. I'd love to see his face when he gets the card and your gifts. :) I'm going to send him some of my Michelle pictures from Worlds when I get them printed.

Thanks for the info, Graciesfriend, I will try to send him something too. He is probably around my sons age, and I'm proud of Francis for risking his life for us. I wish him
safety and to return home soon.

Thanks Pamby for organizing the wonderful MKF dinner. Aside from the competition, it ws the highlight of my trip to Worlds. I really appreciate all of the research and effort you put into making this happen.
