COI $5 Charity Rehearsal

Did anyone attend the COI Rehersal? If so, any news on MK's program? PLEASE I'M dying to know!:SP :FL :CHO :SE

Just returned from the COI charity show here in Binghamton. MK's new exhibition is..."You Raise Me Up" by Josh Groban. It was just wonderful and she received a standing ovation. She has perfect taste in music (LOVE the song) and I'll be interested to see who choreographed it. Looks like maybe Sarah Kawahara?
BTW her dress was cream or very light pink with some sparkles; very lovely.
I'll try to post more about the show later.

Welcome to MKF, Clori and thanks for the info...I got chills when I read what she skated to...I know that I will be in tears when I see it next week...I love that song...I was just on the phone with taf and said that I hoped she would skate to something kind of "emotional" this year..Wonderful...And doesn't she raise all of us up...?

OMG ... I can't believe this! That is one of the most beautiful songs ... if someone had asked me what I would want her to skate to, this would be it. kwanette, talk about emotional!!!

Redvispa - I believe ABC played this music during Nationals to highlight the ladies competition. I am not sure exactly when, but I remember it was playing when they were showing different clips of the ladies (either between the SP and the LP, or after the LP just before exhibitions).

"You Raise Me Up" is on Josh Groban's new CD. The original (I actually like this better) is on the Secret Garden "Once In a Red Moon" CD. The Josh Groban version was used in the commercials for the Jessica Lynch made for TV movie several months ago. It is a VERY inspirational piece of music and yes it did bring tears to my eyes!

Okay I am officially terrible at keeping the promises I make to myself -- I tried SO hard not to spoil, regarding what Michelle's new COI number would be, but as soon as I saw that thread in MK Fan Chat, I could NOT resist, so here I am!

I, too, got chills (and my eyes watered with happiness!) when I read she'll be skating to "You Raise Me Up!" Several of us MKFers (you know who you are...:b ) absolutely ADORE Josh Groban's music -- I have both his CDs and have already choreographed (in my head, of course!) a program for Michelle to skate to for each and every one of his songs! :lol This is the best news!!!!! (but am I going to be a crying wreck tomorrow night or what!! :lol The song itself already makes me cry -- it is indeed so beautiful, emotional, and PERFECT for Michelle!! :angel -- and wow, add Michelle skating to that...uh-oh!! LOL!!)

Up until now, the best and most memorable moment when I was listening to this song was as our bus was driving up to Mount Fuji in Japan in February. With the beautiful sun rising over the huge mountains surrounding us, and with these beautiful lyrics and his beautiful voice, oh gosh it was so great, but I can bet that Michelle's skating to this will beat that!! Ahhh I can NOT wait til tomorrow night!! :angel

That song that was mentioned that Elvis is skating to, is by Maroon 5. Its called "harder to breathe".

And the Shen and Zhao one is the Moulin Rouge song called "come what may" i believe.

Im excited to see the COI on TV. I want to see Michelle skate to that song. I like Josh Grobans songs and my parents adore him, so they'll be thrilled she's skating to him. :)

I am about in tears because COI isn't coming to town (Phx) and I won't get to see Michelle skate to You Raise Me Up. Can one of you that does get to see it sneak in a video camera and make a bootleg tape? Just kidding.

I am just holding the hope that she keeps it for her exhibition next year and chooses to do Nationals so I can see it. This year's Nationals was the 1st time I saw Fallin.

i forgot to add about the security. there was just about none here. they didn't even check bags. but when michelle went on to skate there was a police presence. my husband was watching fromt he top of the stairs and he said that he heard the police officer talking to another police officer about "securing the perimeter" or something lke that.

Goo - for COI Tour 2, all the skaters skate two programs. Of course, Michelle might use some old program she's skated to before ontop of Josh Groban, but maybe it might be new.

I'm thrilled with the choice, but I'll probably bawl all over the place when I watch her skate to that particular piece. Josh Groban is excellent.

the outfit looked a lot like the SP outfit. it might be the same, but i'm not sure. i think that the skirt was different.

If it was the short outfit it was probably because her dress isn't finished yet. I think it was cool that Michelle's intro? blue two piece was the same design as the competitive dress only two pieced.
