Unfortunately, there is no way I will be able to fly out to LA around the time of the show :( I'm going to have surgery at the end of May, and there is no way I will be able to fly or miss physical therapy that soon after my surgery. One of these times I will make sure to coordinate my trip with a So Cali MKF get together.

no michellesmom, I haven't heard from him, but I have his ticket in safekeeping. If he gets home by then, he'll be with us. I'm sure he's fine. There is a lady who has send her husband 8 packages and he hasn't received any of them yet. She said she's written 100 letters but hadn't heard from him since Feb. Then he called her from a payphone in Bagdad. You might have seen the story in the OC Register.

You should definitely come. No one here is too crazy. We're all pretty normal. Heck some are bringing kids so you don't have anything to worry about. It's a lot of fun hanging out with MKFers. If it wasn't I wouldn't have driven up there twice from San Diego! The last time we met, I didn't get home until 2 in the morning. I wouldn't have gone to all that trouble if it wasn't safe, fun, or worth it.

I have one more thing to add to this Sharon. We are meeting in a public resturant. I would totally understand your husband's concern if it was in a private residence but the fact that we'll be out in public and you'll be arriving in your own car should be fine. You can have your husband scout out the place and reassure him that we are not luring you into something dangerous or ficticious place. If we're too weird for you lol, you always have the freedom to leave.

Corbon maybe you can post the link of the pictures of our get together again to show that we are regular people and that we've been here for a long time and that there were kids at the event. Michellesmom and CJustice1 did indeed bring their young daughters so hopefully your husband will feel a little better.

Sharon, I'm bringing my husband, teenaged kids, and my mother-in-law. It's a very busy restaurant, and it's right across the street. You can even use their valet parking and walk across to The Pond. I can't speak for davesato, but the rest of us don't bite. :)

Anyone know how I can get tix? Izzy the Procrastinator waited until the last minute (sorta). When I first looked for tickets several months ago, only lousy seats were left. I thought maybe some better ones would open up later. Now I'm looking again and they're even worse :lol . What have I done :( ? Izzy, I've been checking out some ticket brokers and about a week and a half ago the prices still weren't that bad. Now though they have gone up in price. There used to be tickets in the 213 Section Row H for 115 but those same tickets are now selling for 140 bucks. I don't know how much you are willing to pay though. Another option you might want to try is to just wait a little longer, they do release good tickets once the show is closer to the date.

Yay! I finally got a ticket. Izzy, keep trying. I just kept looking on ticketmaster every day (two or three times) until one came up in the lower section. Probably when it's closer to the date, even better seats will be available--I just didn't want to take the chance and wait. But didn't davesato get a seat really close last year (like 4th row or something) just a couple of weeks before the show?

I got a good seat less than a week before the COI event. 11th row center ice. That's what i'm doing this year. I'm waiting until the week before to get my ticket. I think the hold a lot of seats for VIPs and when they don't get used, they release them and bada-bing, they are there on Ticketmaster.

I think there are a lot of tickets that are held for VIP's and when they don't get all used, they release them to the public. Last year for COI, I got 11th row center ice just a week before the event. It's one seat, but that's all I needed.

I'm still not even sure if I can make it to COI Anaheim, but I am definitely waiting about a week before, and I was thinking of even the day of, just going there to the box office to buy a ticket.

Maybe someone could go there a week ahead and check at the box office? I just checked online for fun, and the seats aren't what I'm looking for. I think I'm going to wait :)

Liz, lol - you have to know someone in the industry to get VIP tickets. I'm not sure who exactly gets VIP and who gets backstage, I'm guessing the higher level person you know - and if you're someone yourself in the industry, you get a VIP =) the lower and have no clue to what goes on the industry, you get a backstage pass.

These are all my personal speculations of course =)

The Pond saves VIP tickets for mucky mucks and their frequent ticket buyer brokers, but if they don't get bought by about a week before the performance, they release them to the general public. Just keep checking back with the box office.

I'm hoping I can schmooze a backstage pass for my goddaughter. I got the tickets for $50 apiece (they're $75 seats) so I was pretty happy since I was getting three of 'em. Can't wait to see you all again for our Southern California MKF tradition!

BTW, I can totally understand going to the library to get online access. I get MKF withdrawals after 24 hours offline. I hope you get your computer working soon.

The best available they had when I checked online was Sect 408 - upper level terrace. I only need one ticket. Even though I don't like that seat, I wonder if I should settle for it or keep looking. Has anyone here had experience with getting good seats on the day of the event by directly going to the box office?

I remember one year people were selling tickets in the parking lot for below ticket value. You should wait, because even if you don't get one of those - you can still buy at the ticket office without spending the extra ticketmaster handling fee.

I think waiting is the best idea. I don't think the event will sell out, so you should be able to buy a seat at the box office. Just keep checking ticketmaster. I got real lucky to get the seat I got. When I saw section 209, I didn't realize it was the first section. I was expecting 100's to be the first section. When I looked at the seating chart and found out i'd be near center ice fourth row, I had less than 2 minutes to put in my credit card info and submit. I had sweat pouring from my brow because I was in such a hurry to not lose that seat. Hope to see you at the lunch.

Slight change of plans for me--the cast of the spring musical from my daughter's high school (she plays cello in the orchestra) has been asked to play at an awards show at noon. I was going to skip it, but she says there's a good chance they'll get one of the awards, and there are only 2 cellists so it would be noticeable if she wasn't there. She says they should be done at 12:45, so we'll still be there, but probably not until about 1:30. So please save us 5 seats and I hope that gives us enough time to chat with everyone. I can't wait!

Hi Corbon - sorry, but my daughter and I are going to have to cancel. I got in a bit of a financial bind and am unable to go to COI this year. Sorry for letting you know so late, but I was hoping up to the end that we would be able to work it out.:(

I'll actually probably be a little earlier than I thought--my daughter's performance is at Plummer Auditorium, which, according to mapquest, is only 10 minutes away from The Pond (where The Mighty Ducks won yesterday!!!!!) <img border=0 src="http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/images/emoticons/happy.gif" />

I don't know about the rest of the family, though--my MIL is supposed to be driving down from Torrance and she isn't here yet, and Mr. mm is still sleeping in, lol.

I guess we'll get there when we get there!
