I wonder if you have heard that yesterday the ISU Council decided to reduce the paneles of judges for all events at the ISU Championships and the Grand Prix Final from 12 to 9 .I am really shocked. With only 9 judges in the panels, after deleting the highest and the lowest marks for the trimmed mean, and dropping two judges by random, you only have the marks of 5 judges left for the result. . And this is really concerning. With secret judging it will be even too easy to make deals. With the old 6.0 system, a panel of 5 judges was only used for minor international competitions, never for ISU Championships. Why haven't they discussed this matter two months ago during the Congress? Probably because they were sure that such a proposal would have never been accepted . If the ISU has to save money, better would have been to chose less expensive hotels for the championships and for the Council members to travel economic class or low cost.

I wonder why the changes and am also surprised at the reduction. Anyone know why this is happening? Would love to know.
