When I was watching the 98 Olympics with my Dad, he said Michelle should skate to the Swan Lake. Then I was thinking, if Michelle is to skate to a programme, I would very much like it to be something like Dance of the Phoenix, something passionate, at the same time elusive, divine and ethereal...... And the music, I hope she can skate to some cultural Spanish or Mexican dances. What do you think?

Terrific topic! :) The music I would LOVE to see Michelle Kwan skate to is Ennio Morricone's "Marco Polo". There is a terrific first section that builds to a point much like Salome, then a great, lyrical slow section, then a softer yet just as powerful fast section to end the program. Her first Dream of Desdemona costume would be perfect for it. It's emotionally powerful music that few skaters could skate well to, but Michelle would make it a masterpiece!

I always wanted to see MK skate to a program about HER LIFE!!!...starting off with the Lullaby...rep her birth...then slowly the musical selection gets more passionate and mature...with her rising at the 96 worlds, her falling in 97...& climbing back up again!!! Ending with some triumphant misuc!!!...denoting where she is and always will be!!!

Announcer: Tonight, Michelle Kwan will skate for us, introducing her new program skated to "Thousand Cranes" from Hiroshima. http://www.towerrecords.com/ra/hurlPNM.exe?/towerlink/~mm-450351/0114590_0105_00_0002.ra (Crowd Applauses) Peggy Fleming: You know, I really just love this program- I had the opportunity to view it when I saw Michelle in practice yesterday. Absolutely beautiful. D. Button: Well, if Michelle has the same "oneness" with the music as we have seen her in the past, I think that the Ladies Worlds might just be wrapped up right now. Michelle now comes out onto the ice, who is now long haired and wearing a similar dress as she did in her Winter program, but with no lace or decorations. (Music Starts) Peggy: Michelle is skating like she's one of the cranes sent out, sending out the message of love and peace throughout the land. Peggy: And here she goes- attempts a double axel jump- pulls that one off. Button: Don't leave your TV's now, for this is the making of legends, my friends. Michelle attempts a triple lutz, then the music comes to its interlude, and she stops and moves her hands and does a mini-spin when the music returns and she comes back onto the ice, where she glides through, until the last chorus, where she ends it with her trademark spiral, then as the music ends, she extends her hands as to embrace the world once again, then sends a single paper crane into the crowd. Peggy: There's Danny Kwan rushing down the stairs to cheer on his daughter on!!! Button: A proud moment for the world of figure skating. We now proceed to Terry Gannon who is now with Michelle. Terry: Breathtaking, breathtakingly beautiful, Michelle. Why did you do this program? Michelle: Well, you know, I can't really explain, Terry, but the lyrics of the song and the story all behind it was so inspiring, so beautiful, that my heart just told me to skate. I felt a bond between myself and my character, unlike ever before. Terry: You've certainly brought happiness to us all tonight, Michelle. Michelle: Thank you so much.... I'm really so delighted to hear that. (As the camera is about to cut out to a commercial, Michelle smiles toward the camera and she moves her hand as if she's throwing out a crane to us all.) The end.

Wow, michelle skating to Hiroshima. How inspiring and totally different from her past programmes. I'm envious of all those who have watched it. hee hee. By the way, I think Bailamos from Wild Wild West is a great song to skate to, but a pity MK doesn't skate to common music.

I would love to see Michelle skate to the Sibelius violin concerto. I've never seen any skater skate to it and I think she's the only person who could preform it really well.
