:banana2Who else is excited for this show to come back? :banana :banana2

I'm so excited!!! I loved last season. The finale between Benji and Travis was awesome. I hope they've found some good dancers again this year.

I thought that was a pretty funny episode. I liked the hip hop dancer guy who came back to swing dance. I was also amazed by the one girl from Isreal's story. I was happy she made it through to the next round. There were several good dancers from this round. I liked the first two ball room dancers that they showed. And was it just me or did they show Travis in the preview for next week?

Watching the clips from last season reminded me how much I loved that dance with Travis and Heidi that was to that Celine Dion song with the bench and flower. WOW, that was probably my favorite dance of the entire season last year. Just beautiful.

I love this show! :)

I didn't notice Travis but I saw Benji in the previews. I'm trying to dig out my picture with him (Travis) from 2004 haha..

"Sex's" (or should it be "The Best's") comeback was really.. unnecessary.

I loved the first two seasons and I can't wait for this season. I was a little disappointed in that they are going the Idol route by showing a lot of stupid fluff on those who can't dance and throw crying fits. I would rather see a lot more auditions.

I thought the hip-hop then swing dancer was hilarious. I laughed out loud. THe first latin pair and Stanislav/sister were fabulous too. I also liked the bit where Nigel gave out technical terms and they showed the dancers doing them.

Here are a couple of really bizarre questions: A lot of the girls danced in what basically looked like bikinis - is that normal or do they just want to show more skin hoping that will help them get picked/shown on TV? ALso, a lot of them were wearing the bottom half REALLY low on their hips. How do they keep them there with all the movement they do? Are they even comfortable? (I don't have a body that would EVER allow me to wear any of that so I'm just curious because it looks very ... unstable - is that the word I'm looking for?)

I thought that tonight's episode they did a better job showing more of the "good" dancers rather than those who are just trying out to be on TV. I was so happy to see Benji!!! I wish he could compete again! I also liked the Asian guy who tried out in Season 2 but couldn't stay because he didn't have a work Visa. He was really entertaining. I felt bad for that last guy they showed in Chicago who had lost his leg in the motorcycle accident.

I'm so sad that they cut those Lindy Hopper dancers and Hannah-Lee. I liked all three of them. I wonder if Benji's sister is still there if she got cut. I noticed that they cut a lot of the people that the sort of featured during the auditions. Tomorrow we find out who will be in the top 20!!! :)

Question: I've missed a lot of the audition episodes and I'm wondering, there was this talented girl last year who had sprained her ankle during the Vegas rounds, and she had to withdraw. Nigel said that she could come back this season straight to the Vegas rounds if she wanted. So, is she here this year? She had short blond hair, and I believe she was more of a lyrical dancer. Her name escapes me though.

Her name was Claire Calloway. On Saturday I had a lazy day, so I alternated between watching my SYTYCD tapes fram last season and re-reading Harry Potter 6. I was looking for her, but didn't see her. Maybe she chose not to come back? Or maybe the injury ended up being worse than they thought?

I also wondered what happened to Benji's sister and also Stanislav's sister. I was disappointed that the student and teacher pair of ladies didn't get farther. I wish they had stretched this episode out longer. I would have liked to see more of how they performed.

I remember that their 1st season, they split all the Vegas people into 5 or 6 classes and Each class worked with 2 choreographers a day. THat was easier to follow, because you weren't watching them teach a huge crowd of 200+ or 100+ where everyone blended in.

Just a side note from last week (I think) - there was that guy who tried out in what looked like a gold Power Ranger's mask - they let him through to choreography - does anyone know why?

I've read online that Danny Tidwell is a contestant this season. He's Travis' brother (not by blood) and I find his dancing incredible. His resume is really impressive too including international competitions and dancing with ABT (American Ballet Theatre). I wonder why the show hasn't said anything about him yet. Here's a Youtube clip of a performance from last year. Enjoy :)

EDIT

ee His attitude rubs me the wrong way.. hopefully that gets better

I was disappointed that the ex-football player didn't get through, although he knew it was a longshot, having had only 8 months of dance. Hopefully he'll try out again next year.

I also think they should've let the girl with the injured ankle last night through to the next round. She did a great job toughing it out. That's the kind of spirit that should be rewarded by the choreographers and directors.

I thought one thing was weird about the show tonight. When the one girl who worked as an assistant to one of the choreographers was up, Nigel made a big deal about favoritism - and she got through.

However, I think that they should have been careful with letting Benji and Stanislav's sisters through, as well as Benji's adopted brother. Ggranted, they are fabulous dancers, but so were some of the others.

3 of the top 20 are related in some way to last year's top 20. Maybe they need to put some sort of clause in the restrictions about siblings/relatives of previous top 20 contestants. Having their names linked with other contestants had to give them an edge - even if it just got the judges to look at them a little more.

I wonder if they had any reservations with the girl who got dropped for Benji's sister? THey seemed to love her and the girl who lost an arm - why would they be so vocal about their reservations for someone that they picked? I wish I had seen more of their dancing in order to judge the decisions more fairly.

Wow! Danny Tidwell is amazing! Unlike last year, we didn't get to see much of the audition process for the top 20. But, from this youtube video, Danny seems to be a real pro. Regardless of how far he gets on this show, he has a really bright future.

I hated how they showed us the sob stories for all these people that were cut right away. Why bother? Why not show us some of the people going to be in the top 20. I was kind of surprised that they put 3 ballroom girls through and only 1 guy. It will be interesting to see how they all work together. I'm so excited for next week!!!

I like that Hok finally made it this season! Yay! Three season and he finally made it!

Hmmm... Tyce's assistant, Benji's sister and Stanislav's sister all got in. And Nigel and co. made a big to-do about not showing favoritism. But I wasn't in the audition process so I don't know.

BTW, the first season was not in Las Vegas... It was in Hollywood.

I really liked Anya/Danny, Lacey/Kameron, Sara/Jesus, and Hok/Jaimie. I think Lacey/Kameron program was the best. Mia really did a good job with that one. I can't remember all their names right now. I think that the couple that did the tango, Ricky/Ashlee are probably going to be in danger, as well as the Disco people and maybe Faina/Cedric. Overall it was a good night of dancing.

EDIT: I found a list of the couples ond which dance they did:

1) Hok/Jaimie - Hiphop
2) Anya/Danny - Jive
3) Lacey/Kameron - Contemporary
4) Dominic "D-Trix"/Sabra - Disco
5) Ashlee/Ricky - Argentine Tango
6) Sara/Jesus- Pop Jazz
7) Jessi/Pasha - Smooth Waltz
8) Faina/Cedric - Hiphop
9) Lauren/Neil - Club Salsa
10) Shauna/Jimmy - Broadway

I really liked Anya/Danny(?), Lacey/Partner, Sarah/Partner, and Hok/Partner. I think Lacey/Partner program was the best. Mia really did a good job with that one. I can't remember all their names right now. I think that the couple that did the tango, Ricky/Partner are probably going to be in danger, as well as the Disco people and maybe Faina/Partner. Overall it was a good night of dancing.

I agree, although Hok's routine was not one of my favorites. I wonder why they partnered the tango couple so badly with regards to height. IS she really that tall that they couldn't pair her up with any boy taller than her? It looked ridiculous. It's almost like they did it on purpose to get rid of him - I remember that Mia loved him.

My favorite was Mia's (I think she is my fav choreographer), followed by the ones dressed as hobos, ANya's, and the broadway "Wiz" program. (Sorry - I'm not good with the names yet.)

Edited to spell check and include:
PS With regards to the guy who did the Salsa in all white - does anyone else think he looks like the guy on Food Network with the accent who stops women in the grocery sore and then helps them cook?

Wow! Last night was amazing. In the end I voted for Lacey and Kameron, that dance was so intricate and she was just unreal! IT really gave me chills. I thought Shane's work fell a little flat for me but Hok still managed to stand out anyway. Overall it was a great first week and I think the two tango dancers are in trouble, that pairing was just plain unfair! but we'll see what happens tonight!

Bottom 3 couples:
Disco - Dominic and Sabre
Tango - Ricky and Ashlee
HipHop - Cedric and Faina

I agree with all three. Mary was upset with Faina and Cedric - but who else would she have put in? THey were almost all fabulous.

I loved seeing Benji again - although I thought the pants going down was a bit unnecessary.

Leaving us tonight - Ricky and Ashlee

I agree - I was disappointed in Ashley's solo - I thought she could have done a lot more - and Ricky, well, I just don't see what Mia does.

PS - I went to the official website http://www.fox.com/dance/ to check names with faces. A lot of the pictures are bad in that they make them look a lot older and sometimes not like what they look like on TV.

It seems like a lot of people didn't get ricky. People thought he was weird and I think besides Mia even the judges thought he was too strange. That's probably one of the reasons they let him go.

..and Ashley..sweet girl but she seems so boring. Her dancing was good but boring..even in her first audition. I just didn't really get her like Nigel.

Last nights dances:

Neil & Lauren (Hip-hop): It was OK. I don't think they will be in the bottom because the young teenage girls seem to like Neil.

Pasha & Jessi (Jazz): This was good. I kind of am liking Pasha.

Hok & Jaime (Samba): I liked their program, even though the judges didn't seem to like it. It wasn't bad. I thought Hok did pretty good with his first real challenge at partnering.

Sabra & Dominic (Contemporary): It was only OK to me. I didn't see the "Bird" or "Creature" that they were talking about in the practice reels. And how does a "bird" and "creature" fit in with "I'll Stand By You." I think they could land in the bottom again just because some of the other dancers have larger fan bases it seems, but we will see.

Faina & Cedric (Fox Trot): I agree with the judges on this one. Faina was good and Cedric was terrible. I'm sure they will be in the bottom 3 tonight and wouldn't be surprised if they are the ones who get sent home.

Lacey & Kameron (Broadway): I agree with Mia on their performance, it needed some more pizazz. It was good, but not great.

Danny & Anya (Viennese Waltz): Beautiful! That turn was awesome! I hope they get a different style next week so we can see if Anya can do something other than ballroom.

Shauna & Jimmy (Hip-hop): Who were they again? Oh yeah. I thought their program was forgetable. I didn't really like it. I don't really like Shauna for some reason. They could land in the bottom 3.

Sara & Jesus (Paso Doble): The music was terrible. I couldn't even listen to it. It totally distracted from the dance.

The overall choreography was better last week but I do like this guy better than Shane Sparks. I hate Shane’s choreography for some reason. I like the new guy’s choreography on Neil. His partner said she did some hip hop but she looked somewhat awkward.

For some reason none of the girls that did the hip hop look right but I won’t go into that.

Keep Wade and the new guy…get rid of Shane. Shane can just judge.

Overall I thought it was another night of great dancing - but I like last weeks routines a little better.

Neil/Lauren: I agree that it was okay. I thought her dress was distracting and I agree with Mary that Neil stood out a little more.

Pasha/Jessi: I loved this dance and they were fantastic.

Hok/Jaime: I didn't like this at all. It looked awkward. Hok didn't have the Latin flavor in his movement and Jamie looked like she was trying WAY too hard with her hip action.

Dominic/Sabra: I didn't see the bird/creature either, but I loved the dancing. I thought it was beautiful. Dominic did way better than I expected and Sabra is wonderful to watch. I just wish her personality was stronger to compete with the other girls who are very outgoing.

Cedric/Faina: This was bad. I couldn't make it through it again when I watched my tape this afternoon. He looked scared stiff, but she was gorgeous. It was the exact opposite of last week.

Kameron/Lacey: I agree - it was good not great, though Lacey was definitely better than Kameron.

Danny/Anya: Loved it! It definitely deserved a Mary scream.

Jimmy/Shauna: THis routine was okay. I agree with those who say Shauna is dance schoolish. I originally thought she was dancing like a cheerleader. I think it's how she holds her shoulders and keeps her arms in closer to her body, although she was better this week.

Jesus/Sara: I agree about the music. WHen watching it back, I had to hit mute. THe flashing lights were also annoying. The movement was pretty good, but something was missing due to the horrible music. However, they both did well for a new style.

My bottom 3: Cedric/Faina, Hok/Jaime, and I can't pick a third

Depending on who is in the bottom 3, I think a breaker is going home this week. I hope it's an interesting solo face off.

Has anyone noticed how they're doing a lot more with lighting and effects this year. Some of it is distracting, even if it does fit the routine. For example, Pasha/Jessi's waltz last week was dark and hard to see.

Also - from last week, Nigel pointed out Allison in the audience. She looks different fram last year - or maybe it was the lighting - but I thought she looked a lot older and heavier in her face.

I would have thought Mia would want to keep Jimmy b/c he's more well rounded. I like Cedric but I can't believe they kept him another week just based on his appeal in his own style of dance.

Also, when they want the dancers to "dance for their lives," it seems like they're only focusing on crazy spins, jumps, acrobatics, and drama. I know that the dancers have to show that they really want to stay but dancing well doesn't imply they need to all perform 10 pirouettes...

-edit to add-

d'trix and sabra had such a great reaction to being safe. :)

I'm ticked off that Jimmy got the boot. It makes no sense that the ones who are praised in the pair (Jimmy and Faina) are the ones to be eliminated. Although I did like Shauna better than Faina, just because Shauna seems to be more versatile. It seems like the judges are just picking people for the sake of ratings and the eventual tour. How much you want to bet if Anya makes the top 10, so will Pasha (his ballroom partner). Whatever. I still love to watch the dancing, but the show is a joke!

As annoyed as I am about certain much, much better dancers going I do understand.

I don't think Jimmy, Faina and that other girl that really danced for her spot in the solo stand out. I don't think they have the personalities that grab the voters.

Take Ivan from last year...not the best dancer in other fields but hip hop, popping and that weird krumping but he did continue to improved but most of all he had a personality that many people gravitated to. I loved Ivan although i knew that he shouldn't win the competition like Benji who also had personality out of this world.

I'm going by feedback from people on the net or around me.

I still think Dance has much better talent than Idol did and that Idol has become the real joke.

Recap of tonight's show:

Sara/Jesus - Krumping - fun - I liked it - Sara was great :clap

Shauna/Cedric - Contemporary with Mia - Loved Shauna - I agree with Mary and Nigel that Cedric didn't do much - he should've gone last week - Jimmy would have been fabulous

Lacey/Kameron - Quick step - One of the better quicksteps done on the show, but it was lacking something

Anya/Danny - Hip Hop - It was okay - it had some cool parts but it wasn't memorable

Sabre/Dominic - RUmba - I'm not sure what to think. I've never really seen a Rumba before, but that isn't quite what I expected. It seemed like a lot of posing and I guess I thought it would move around the stage more

Lauren/Neil - Tango - THis was okay, I liked the music, but thought the performance fell a little flat - I don't think she could have had the flu and been that perky in rehearsal

Jamie/Hok - Jazz - I really liked this piece, though I thought he was more like an insect than a hummingbird - Jamie was fantastic

Pasha & partner - Cha Cha - Pasha was great, of course it is his style, but he was great. His substitute partner was great too. I'm sorry to hear Jesse isn't well. My mom's a nurse and she said it sounded like she was dehydrated or her electrolytes were off. Hopefully it was one of those so it can be easily fixed. My prayers are with her :angel (and Lacey too - she lost a friend last week :sad )

I wonder how they're going to do the bottom 3. Nigel said that if she is well, Jesse will have to dance for her life even if Pasha is safe. Does that mean there would be 3 pairs in the bottom plus Jesse?

It's hard to pick a bottom 3, but here goes (I may change my mind after watching it back tomorrow)
Sabra/Dominic
Lauren/Neil
Anya/Danny (I know - but I liked the other dances better - they're really making it tough for us this year)

Play by play here!

Wow! They are prolonging so much of the talking tonight. I guess they have to kill some time as they have more tonight! Plus, there is so much ballroom tonight! I wish we would see more variety and newer styles. I would have loved to have seen a waltz or Brazilian Samba. Or even Paso Doble de Pilipinas (yes! The Philippines have their own version of Paso Doble... How about that for Ballrooom. The Philippines actually have a lot ballroom dances believe or not... all Spanish-influenced of course). How about some ballet or Afro-jazz, some merengue, or Snap/Hiphy Dance. I would love to see some ethnic dance as well. It's getting monotonous for me. How about 80s hip-hop. there is so much to choose from but they limit it so much. I would love for them to just surprise us one of these day with an ethnic/world episode.

Sara and Jesus - love it! And I think Jesus outdanced Sara at her own style. He was really good!

Cedric and Shauna - I didn't like it... music and all. It was weird and that whole sitting down thing was kind of a waste of choreography. It's the first time I didn't like Mia's work. The diatribe about Cedric was really drawn out. I have a feeling that Mary and Nigel's dismission of Cedric will backfire and all those sucker who feel sorry for him will keep him on the show. Kind of like what happened with Jasmin Trias on American Idol. D ebbie better live up to her word and give Cedric a scholarship.

Lacey and Cameron - It was allright! Didn't like the music and the last half seemed so cheerleader like to me. Lacey's smile bugs me. I remember the quickstep that Richard Gere did in Shall We Dance and I loved it. I didn't get that feeling here. I feel bad for her friend's death but I hope people vote for the dancing.

Danny and Anya - Love the dancers... hate the choreography. Dan Karaty really is not a good choreographer... Sorry Debbie but I disagree. Danny was good but there wasn't that rawness that I want from a hiphop number even if it is a little more lyrical. There were some hand movements from Danny that seemed almost balletic. I still love them though and I still would vote for them if I voted.

Dominic and Sabra - It was sexy... as long as you're not looking at Dominic's face. I hate the faces he makes. the dance itself isn't as fluid as I would like it to be. It seemed so sticatto to me. I have liked the Rumbas from Dancing with the Star better. Here's Cheryl Burke and Emitt Smith's Rumba: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F67aKLkgvgw Mary was annoyingly loud!

Lauren/Neil - Lackluster! Whereas Dominic was over doing it with the facials, these two didn't have it. No fire! I like the music but they've had better tango music before.

Hok/Jamie - I LOVED IT! As usual Wade Robson has this amazing choreography! It really match both their styles! They were so good! It was so mesmerizing! Very artistic! It reminded me of Mia's Bench routine in its uniqueness. And I loved the music! Can we get more like this please!

Pasha and guest - Pasha was great! He did well and his partner was great too! He should be great in this dance because it is his element. I hope Jesse feels better. Perfect contemporary chacha music

My fave:
Hok/Jamie

My Bottom three:
Shauna/Cedric
Lacey/Kameron
Lauren Neil

OVERALL: Not that great a show for me! Jamie and Hok were the only ones who really stood out for me.

Sara/Jesus - Krumping - fun - I really didn't like it. Then again, I've never really liked any of the Krumping routines they've done on this show.

Shauna/Cedric - Contemporary with Mia - This is one of the first programs by Mia that I really didn't like. There was too much sitting, standing, and jumping off the stage for me. Shauna did all the dancing and was good, but Cedric didn't really do anything. I think and hope its time for him to leave.

Lacey/Kameron - Quick step - I actually enjoyed their program. I thought it was fun and energetic. I really liked Lacey's dress.

Anya/Danny - Hip Hop - It was average. Not great, but not completely bad, though it was nice to see Anya do something other than ballroom

Sabra/Dominic - RUmba - I really didn't care for their program. It seemed like they were standing around and posting and that it was kind of slow.

Lauren/Neil - Tango - Didn't like this one either. I'm not too fond of them as a pair. They just don't really "mesh" together. Both are OK dancers, but together they aren't all that spectacular.

Jamie/Hok - Jazz - *LOVED* this program! Awesome! I love the soundtrack to "Memoirs of a Geisha" and this program totally rached! Jaime and Hok were both fantastic. I thought Jaime did a beautiful job and that dress was so pretty. This is probably the only program by Wade that I've actually really liked. Usually his stuff is a bit weird for me, but this was amazing! Well done!!! This is one of my new favorite programs.

Pasha & partner - Cha Cha - Pasha was smoking hot!!! Wow! That was freaking awesome. I feel bad for Jessie. I hope she is OK. Pasha was spectalur tonight though. He looked really shook up when they showed him talking about what happened to Jessie and it was amazing to see him put that all aside and focus on dancing.

I'm really hoping that Cedric goes home this week. He should have gone home last week instead of Jimmy. I'm still peeved about that.

My favorites tonight were Hok, Jaime, and Pasha. WOW! What a way to close the show.

I think the bottom 3 will be Lauren/Neil, Shauna/Cedric, and Sabra/Dominic since they tend to be forgotten. Though I could see Danny/Anya in the bottom 3 this week as well.

About Wade Robson...

He is a genius dancer. Weird or whatever you may think of his choreography, he tells such rich and deep stories into his choreography! And when he choreographs, he is so meticulous is choreograph for the dancer's strengths whereas other choreographers just tries to force dancers into a box (some can't be helped like ballroom), Wade really thiks about his dancers.

Any dancer who has him as a choreographer is almost given immunity for the next week. He is like a free pass.

Oh and I love Hok! He is so cool and sexy! I love that accent!

Wade has gotten more talented as he aged. That dude is awesome and so far he's so original. Love him and I'm so glad they added him this season.

Hok and Jaimie was so awesome. I couldn't take my eyes off of them.

The hummingbird/flower routine last night was absolutely the most magnificent thing I've seen on this show to date including previous seasons, the choreography was genius and executed exceptionally well. I wonder now if the rest of the season will pale to that one routine.

Reaction to Yzerbear's Spoiler

What'd I tell ya? Didn't I say that Mary and Nigel's comments would backfire? When you spend that long tearing down somebody, the American audience will be easily swayed to feel sympathy for that person.

Essentially what happened was a Jasmine Trias.

Three male contemporary dancers this week. Wow!

Maybe next time, Mary and Nigel will be more concious of their comments.

I didn't agree with the results tonight. Except for Lauren and Neil in the bottom. I didn't think Jesus and Sara should have been there. And the solos weren't that good this week. Lauren's was awful. And Anya danced to Fields of Gold by Eva Cassidy, I couldn't watch b/c all I could think about was MK!

I would have cut Neil... He didn't do any choreography. He threw one trick after another... Danny and Jesus at least had some choreography.

I mean all three of them all have the same backgrounds. I would have cut the one who didn't even try to put in choreography...

Last nights results were disappointing.

calculusfan
June 29th, 2007, 12:43 PM
I agree - last night was disappointing.

THe group number was good - I really liked it. I also liked that they had Pasha and Jesse dance their routine.

Girls - what were they thinking? THey did almost nothing. I agree with NIgel about Lauren, Jesse looked horrible in that outfit and I'm not quite sure what she was doing, Sara atleast moved around on stage and did dance in her style, though it was not thrilling, and Anya - what a bizarre outfit, with the lights that low I couldn't see her dance, only the blue glow. I was so disappointed. I couldn't even choose who I thought would go, though I was a little surprised it was Jesse. Maybe they didn't want to chance anyone with possible health issues, but if that was the case, they should have said something about it.

Guys - I thought Jesus and Danny did really well. I agree with everyone who said all Neil did was throw tricks - and the exact same ones we've seen over and over. I would have sent Neil home. He was the weakest "partner" out of the three. In a case like last night, I wish they would take into account everything they've done on the show after entering the top 20. I know that "dancing for your life" is important, but basing a decision like that only on 30 seconds? I just was not happy.

Don't forget that SYTYCD is back on Wednesday! :)

For anyone who is interested, here are the dance styles for tomorrow:

1. Lacey + Kameron - Hustle- Maria Torres
2. Shauna + Cedric- Mambo- Alex Da Silva
3. Anya + Danny – Contemporary- Tyce Diorio
4. Sara + Pasha - West Coast Swing- Benji Schwimmer
5. Sabra + Dominic - Hip-hop- Shane Sparks
6. Jaimie + Hok - Waltz- Toni Redpath
7. Lauren + Neil - Jazz- Wade

The West Coast Swing routine is choreographed by Benji!!! :)

Wow, I totally loved Pasha and Sara doing the west coast swing! They mesh quite nicely for having never danced together before. I liked Benji's routine a lot. :)

Also, Neil and Lauren were phenomenal! Wade Robson is one awesome choreographer. Neil and Lauren weren't working for me before this but tonight they brought it.

I thought that Shane's routine was okay but I liked the one that he did for Allison and Ivan last year, the one with the umbrella much better.

Was anyone surprised by Cedric tonight? I totally wasn't expecting him to do any growing and he actually did do some growing.

1. Lacey + Kameron - Hustle- Maria Torres- Awesome. I really liked their program.

2. Shauna + Cedric- Mambo- Alex Da Silva - Didn't really like it.

3. Anya + Danny – Contemporary- Tyce Diorio - It was good, but it reminded me a lot of the contemporary piece that Lacey and Kameron did, but they did theirs better.

4. Sara + Pasha - West Coast Swing- Benji Schwimmer - Best of the night! Awesome! Pasha and Sara worked really well together. :clap

5. Sabra + Dominic - Hip-hop- Shane Sparks - I really don't like Shane's choreography and didn't care for this program at all.

6. Jaimie + Hok - Waltz- Toni Redpath - I actually liked their dance. I really like them as a couple. Though why does it seem they like to use blue lights for them?

7. Lauren + Neil - Jazz- Wade - I really don't like a lot of Wade's programs and this was one I didn't like. I really don't like Lauren. Something about her bugs me. Neil is fine, but Lauren needs to go.

My bottom 3:
Shauna/Cedric
Sabra/Dominic
Anya/Danny

calculusfan
July 11th, 2007, 11:43 PM
Lacey/Kameron - Hustle - I liked it too.

Shauna/Cedric - Mambo - I didn't like it either. My parents did. Maybe I'll feel differently when I rewatch it tomorrow, but I kept thinking of that awesome Mambo Benji and Heidi did last year and this was nowhere close, even though it's not fair to compare because B&H were so good at partnering.

Anya/Danny – Contemporary - Again I agree (great minds think alike :wink). I think Nigel was wrong - I do think Danny is arrogant.

Sara/Pasha - West Coast Swing - This was so much fun to watch and I loved where she flipped over his head! Sara has amazed me each week going into unfamiliar styles and Pasha is so darn cute! THey make an adorable couple. Kudos to Benji for his first stint as choreographer!

Sabra/Dominic - Hip-hop - I don't reall like hiphop, especially some of Shanes's stuff either, but this was not bad for me. At least it was gentle and not all booty shaking and angry. I liked Sabra's handstand move - she had a really nice line and arch in her back.

Jaimie/Hok - Waltz - THis was okay for me. I watched Jamie most of the time because I really didn't notice Hok. He was more of a prop in this routine, though he really tried to get into the ballroom type movement.

Lauren/Neil - Jazz - I think Wade has neat stuff and this was kind of cool, but not outstanding. I agree about Lauren. She bugs me too - she's so over the top with her emotions and reactions she seems really immature. I don't like Neil much either, but I think he was okay tonight.

My bottom 3:
Shauna/Cedric
Jamie/Hok
Sabra/Dominic or Lauren/Neil (I can't decide)

It will be interesting tomorrow night. With regards to Nigel talking about Jesse, I completely agree with how he handled it. What did those people want them to do - give her a free pass? Her solo was just as bad as the other girls. It's a shame, because she did so well the first two weeks (especially the bird dance), but Nigel's right. SOmeone has to leave each week and this year is really tough because they are all good.

I don't know how people see arrogance in Danny's dancing. It seems to me that he is a real master of his craft, and in that way above and beyond the others in the competition. I think he is completely committed to each movement and doesn't show raw emotion the way others do. I just don't think that is arrogance. I think that is his style.

I think that the judges did him a huge disservice by placing arrogance in people's minds before anyone ever saw him dance or got to know him. I hope he lasts a long time because I love to watch him dance.

This week's styles and order:

1. Sabra and Dom - Jive (Tony Meredith)
2. Jaimie and Hok - Broadway (by Tyce)
3. Pasha and Sara - Jazz (Mandy Moore)
4. Neil and Lauren - Contemporary (Mia)
5. Danny and Anya - Foxtrot (Tony Meredith)
6. Lacey and Kam - Hip Hop (Dan)

This week's guest judge is Wade. Interesting that they have him as the guest judge the week it goes down to the top 10 and those are the 10 that will be on the tour. I guess they didn't want to give any of the teams a free pass to the top 10 since whoever gets Wade tends to be safe. Little bit worried for Lacey/Kam since I have never liked Dan's choreography.

1. Sabra and Dom - Jive (Tony Meredith) - I didn't really like this program. It seemed a bit sloppy to me. I think that Danny and Anya's jive was a lot better.

2. Jaimie and Hok - Broadway (by Tyce) - I actually liked this program. I thought it was really interesting. I thought Hok did a good job and Jaime was superb.

3. Pasha and Sara - Jazz (Mandy Moore) - I liked this program. I think Pasha is just awesome.

4. Neil and Lauren - Contemporary (Mia) - What the BLEEP was this? I didn't like it at all. It almost seemed like hip hop more than contemporary. Sometimes I just don't get Mia's programs and this was one of them. I didn't like the music either. It was kind of annoying.

5. Danny and Anya - Foxtrot (Tony Meredith) - Beautiful! I Anya's costume. This was probably the best foxtrot they've had, though Lacey and Kam's foxtrot was also good.

6. Lacey and Kam - Hip Hop (Dan) - I really don't like Dan's programs. Lacey was OK, but Kam was just lackluster. They could be going to the bottom 3 for the first time.

My bottom 3:
Sabra/Dominic
Lauren/Neil
Lacey/Kameron

Though I have a feeling that Jaime/Hok could be in danger again this week.

Sabra/Dominic - Jive - I agree that A/D were better, but theirs was more a true Jive, this jive was more Jazzy and they seemed a bit awkward, but their personalities showed well

Jaimie/Hok - Broadway - I really liked this one too - I didn't get the old man thing - I thought it would have been better if he was an old man dreaming he could dance so that Hok could do more, but I thought it was cute - it didn't look like her toe was bothering her - it didn't even look like she taped it for protection.

Sara/Pasha - Jazz - Loved it

Lauren/Neil - Contemporary - Normally I live Mia, but I HATED this program. I didn't get it, it was weird, and I don't think it was performed well, their synchronization was off quite a bit and I hate it when dancers wear glasses like that - Yuck - I want more park benches and sunflowers

Anya/Danny - Foxtrot - I don't know about this one, they looked beautiful, but it didn't feel like a Foxtrot to me. I know the choreog. said he was tweaking it a bit, but I didn't like the effect - I wanted Fred Astaire, not a Jazz dancer - I wonder how her ankle is doing now? I noticed her leap was not really a leap - was it taped for support?

Lacey/Kameron - Hiphop - Did not like it - though Lacey was better

I noticed that about Anya's leap as well. It seemed like they may have changed parts of the program to accommodate her hurt ankle because it seemed like in the practice piece that parts were different.

I was disappointed in tonight's numbers. No one blew me away and I found myself looking away during the numbers because I was bored. Jaimie and Hok's was especially boring to me. The hip hop wasn't that great - it seem like lately, hip hop has been the kiss of death - a lot of couples find themselves in the bottom 3 after doing hip hop. I did like Danny and Anya, that's about it. Didn't like the jazz 80's number, contemporary was just weird and I don't like Lauren and Neil. I voted for Jamie and Hok. I couldn't have disagreed more with the judges. Hok has really come far, and it was completely unfair for them to judge him on the choreography. They kept saying, "I was expected something amazing to come after that move." That's not Hok's fault, it's the choreographers. Jamie has by far the best extension of any of the dancers left. The whole thing just gave me chills.

Anya - good
Jamie - beautiful (Nigel said desperate, but you have to be to get it all in 30sec)
Lauren - okay
Danny - good
Hok - brilliant!
Neil - so so

I would have let Lauren go and with the guys, I don't know. I'm not sure how versatile Hok is, but his solo was amazing. Lauren/Pasha - HipHop - Loved it! It was fun.

Sabra/Kameron - Contemporary - Beautiful! I think Sabra is my new favorite.

Lacey/Danny - Samba - That was so HOT! It was incredible!

Jaimie/Dominic - Viennese Waltz - HATED the Spanish flair. HATED it. What a shame the choreographers had to do that. It wasn't danced great and Dominic probably wouldn't have done well technically with a true waltz, but it was not fair.

Sara/Neil - Disco - He's really cheesy, but I love Sara and the routine was fun.

Solos - I pretty much agree with the judges analysis. It was interesting to see them all do the same choreography. Now that I'm familiar with it, I'll go back to my tape and watch them again to see if I can pick out differences. THe choreography was so complicated, it's hard to compare them.
I stopped my VCR once I realized all 3 judges were going to comment on all 10 dancers, but halfway through, I realized I should have kept it going because so many of the comments were so right on point.

My bottom two guys - Dominic and Kameron, maybe Neil

My bottom two girls - I don't think I can pick. Based on tonight, I say Jaimie even though she's a beautiful dancer. Based on the rest of the season, Lauren even though she was great tonight, but I love Sabra, really like Sara, and Lacey is fantastic. Maybe they should send two guys home instead?

I was busy last night trying to get some stuff done to go out of town this weekend, so I didn't get a chance to post my reviews on this board last night.

I had to mute the music for the solos after the first one. I can't stand John Mayer and that was too much. Overall most of the dances were "meh." I did like Lacey and Danny's though. That was HOT! The Waltz . . . (err, was that even a waltz?) . . . was bad. It was totally the fault of the choreographer though, not the dancers. That song would have worked much better for a Paso Double(sp?) or even Broadway. I'm sick of disco. I don't remember them doing this much disco before. Pasha surprised me in the hip hop. It was actually quite good. Overall it wasn't that impressive. Sigh.

I do like the fact for the solos that they have everyone doing the same thing, but maybe allow them to pick out their own music or something, but just have the same choreography. Using the same song was very annoying.

Haha...

Watching the routines last night, as soon as Wade Robson said anti-war, I knew that it was going to cause an uproar. I was surprised that Nigel actually brought it up and apologized.

I don't think that you should have to apologize for artistic expression, especially for a routine that encouraged words like hope, understanding, communication, etc... Imagine if Picasso had to apologize for Guernica...

America can be absurdly anti-democratic... For our country to be so for freedom of expression, we are fickled when someone actually expresses something that we disagree with.

I'm also surprised that Mia talked about the jacket...

...but I'm glad that the judges expressed it.

I was so tired of the same choreography though...

I had a million things to do on Thursday to get ready to go out of town for the weekend, so I didn't get to post my thoughts on the eliminations.

I kind of figured it would be Kameron and Jaimie. The judges liked both early on, but both were sort of losing favor in the judges eyes. I know that if Kameron had not been with Lacy he probably would have been cut before now. I wasn't surprised to see Lauren in the bottom 2. There is something about her that bugs people. I've heard a lot of other people say this. And I think Dominic was a no-brainer for the bottom 2. The cuts are getting more difficult.

Regarding Mia's jacket. There was an uproar because the emblem on her jacket was upside down and resembled a Marine jacket.

I hope this week's dances are better than the last. It seems that this season started out with a big bang and sort of has fizzled. The only really stand out programs so far was Lacey and Kameron's contemporary from week 1 and Hok and Jaimie's hummingbird dance. Though Lacey and Danny's samba was quite good.

My thoughts on tonight's dances:

Danny/Sara
Argentine Tango - I liked the "pretzel" move, but thought that Danny did a better job than Sarah. It was OK.

Hip-hop- Ah, when did we go back to 1990? That was weird. Again I thought that Danny was better than Sarah. Those costumes were horrible. I feel bad for them.

Lauren/Dom
Krump - I didn't really like it. I was wondering if they were going to mention Lauren's fall.

Rumba - I agreed with the judges on this one that there was too much posing and not nearly enough dancing.

Lacey/Neil
Latin jazz - I was unsure what Latin Jazz was, but I thought it was good, though I can see what Adam was saying about Lacey not connecting with Neil.

Contemporary - Beautiful. Stunning. Amazing. I was glad to see that neither of them tripped on the flowers. I was worried about that when I see them all over the stage. Mia's best program this year. :)

Sabra/Pasha
Broadway - It was good. I like Pasha and was happy that he did well. I've never heard of that Broadway show though. They really sold the number.

Quickstep - Again it was good. I Heart Pasha. He is such an amazing dancer. He is probably the best partner on the show. I thought the costume was a tad distracting. Too many stripes. A very good quickstep.

Danny and Sara were okay overall but I did enjoy their Argentine tango. However, I still love Ivan and Allison's first Argentine tango so much more. I really didn't like the hip-hop but it was okay.

Lauren and Dom-

I just didn't like them at all this week. I thought that the krumping was awful and while the posing was pretty in the rhumba it's not a posing show, it's a dancing show.

Lacey and Neil-

I agree with the judges about the Latin jazz, I just wasn't feeling it. However, I loved the Mia Michaels contemporary routine. That was just breath taking, without a doubt best dance of the night and one of the best of the season.

Pasha and Sabra-

I loved that Broadway routine, they totally sold it and it actually made me want to get up and dance. I also loved the quickstep, they made great use of the stage and it looked like what a quickstep is supposed to look like.

Hhmmm... Best Argentine Tango still has to go to Ashley and Blake for me. They tore it up! They've always been the standard for Argentine Tango for me.

I love Alex da Silva. He is one of hte best choreographers; his peices are always so intricate. I wish he would judge! ANd I wish they would bring back Salsa or Merengue. I think Season 1 was the only time they did Salsa.

Danny and Sara - Love them! Loved the tango. I wish they would have premised the Hip-hop as late 80s/early 90s hip-hop. Those actually were the style of clothing they we were wearing back then. They should have given Sara the poof hair and Danny some overalls though. I thought that the costuming was right up there with the cross-colors theme of the time.

Lauren and Dom - Meh!

They took off Anya for the faller?

Who is the bigger attention whore here. Mmmm... that would be Dom but who cares I like him... corniness and all. I really don't like Lauren at all. She needs to go. About the choreography, it's not their fault how they are choreographed so why harp on them about it. That discussion needs to take place outside of the show not during the critique of a couple.

Neil and Lacey - I actually liked the Latin Jazz when they were dancing it, and was hoping they would get rave reviews but oh well.

Hhmmm... the contemporary. You know, I came here before I saw it and read people's OMG OMG OMG comments so it was already hyped up for me. Then I sawMIa's commentary during the show and I thought it was touching. However, as touching as it was, I wasn't blown away by the routine as I thought I would be. I loved the mood, the setting, and the story of the dance but I couldn't help but feel a little manipulated.

Sabra and Pasha - For some reason, I never liked Pasha. HE is a great dancer but I can't get the Evgeny Plushenko vibe off of him and Evgeny I do not like. There is something so contrived about his smile.

Sabra is a goddess for me. She is great and I hope that we see her and Sara as the final two girls!

My bottom peeps:

Lauren and Pasha has to go!

Danny, Sara, Sabra MUST stay! Don't care for the others! We can have a final three!

Wade Robson, please come back and did anyone see Brian Friedman on last weeks show?

I think the right people went home. I liked Sara better than Lacey, but Lacey is overall a better dancer IMO. Sorry, but I couldn't stand Dominic. I find the corniness just really annoying.

I would like to see Lacey & either Neil or Danny going next but I don't really care as long as the final two are Pasha & Sabra, with Sabra winning. She is the most exquisite dancer I have ever seen.

On Wed, I really liked the first round of dances. Pasha and Lacey's hip hop was one of the few hip hop numbers I've actually liked! I was fun and for 2 ballroom/latin dances, they did an awesome job. I loved Sabra and Neil's jazz number, it was so fun and I loved the table. Danny and Lauren's contemporary was good, but I didn't like all the running. The 2nd numbers for me were a bit of a let down. I didn't like Lacey and Pasha's smooth waltz, yeah it was beautiful but a bit boring IMO. Maybe it was the music???? Because when Danny and Anya did their waltz, that music drew me in and I enjoyed it more (it had lyrics and was more familiar to me). The disco number was ok, but I found myself losing attention. And Sabra and Neil's paso doble (sp??) was pretty good I guess.

Why are the results on Monday this week instead of Thursday? Weird! I can't believe it's finale time already. This season went fast. I always go through withdrawal when it is over! Seriously, I love it!

Because FOX had to show an incredibly important PRESEASON football game. :boggled What a joke. Anyway, the result show was actually already taped on Thursday, but it will air on Monday. But, they apparently threw the audience out before they gave the results, lol. Too bad, I was hoping to read the spoilers. ;)

But, they apparently threw the audience out before they gave the results, lol. Too bad, I was hoping to read the spoilers. ;) I know. Our Internet was still not working Thursday night so I actually hooked up the dialup just to read that they had kicked out the audience. Grrrrr.

I finally got to see the show from Wednesday. LOVED Pasha and Lacey. Their waltz was beautiful. The music was so pretty. Everything about it was just wonderful. The hip hop was fun. I think that was the first time I can say I actually liked hip hop.

Neil and Sabra were OK. The jazz was kind of cool, but the Paso was just OK.

Danny and Lauren's contemporary should have had more dancing, less running. Though I didn't understand the whole thing with "Aliens." I didn't see any aliens dancing. Their disco was OK. Lauren's dress sort of bugged me. It seemed like the one part should have been brought up a bit higher.

My favorites of the night though were Pasha and Lacey.

Moderator Post calculusfan, please remember to use the spoiler tag if you post spoilers before the show has aired on the West Coast. Thanks.

Sorry everyone! I noticed that the spoiler tag was being used more frequently, but didn't think about using it since I had been posting at about the same time for several weeks. I'll remember to use it from now on.

I would have apologized earlier, but I've been out of town for 2 weeks with only enough computer time at the local library to check vital email.

I set my VCR for the last two weeks, so here are my 2 cents:

August 1st:
Sara and Danny - Liked the tango - with good music for once, hated the hiphop
Lauren and Dominic - Hated the crumping, though at least it wasn't really vulger, the rumba was all posing like the one he did with Sabra
Lacey and Neil - I liked the Latin Jazz but I agreee about the lack of connection, the contemporary was beautiful
Sabra and Pasha - Loved the quickstep - probably the best one ever done on the show, loved the broadway too - it was cute and happy

I agree with Sara and Dominic going, though I really liked Sara

August 8th

Lacey and Pasha - LOVED the hip-hop, it almost seemed like modern dance then hiphop, and the waltz was beautiful, though Lacey's hands were bad
Lauren and Danny - contemporary was ok, it was powerful and fast, but I didn't see any aliens either, the disco was ok too but I wasn't blown away
Sabra and Neil - Loved the jazz, liked the paso, but the paso seemed to lack something towards the end - I don't know if it was the music or the level of performance, but something seemed to fizzle out

All 6 are so good, I don't want to make any predictions. However, my favorite girl is Sabra and my favorite guy is Pasha.

I was so panicked when I wsaw football at the end of my tape instead of results - I'm glad they'll show them on Monday, but I hate football and I hate that people think it is so important that it supercedes everything else - it's August and preseason, it doesn't count for anything except $signs for the already overpaid...okay I went off topic - sorry!

One last thing - in the results show on Aug2nd, which girl was in the black jacket?

I pray Sabra wins. I think she has the passion and is just really great. I would never think she has just been dancing for 4 years. I'm not too keen on Danny, never was. I felt an arrogance which I do not think has gone away . Neil is my next favorite after Sabra to win.

2. Lacey

I would love to see Sabra win! She just lights up the stage and I can't take my eyes of her when she dances no matter who she partners with.
Neil is way too stiff for me in the arms, shoulders and hands. His technique is great and he always has some personality in his dancing but he lacks a lot of flow in his movement, it kind of reminds me of Kimmie in that respect.
Danny has fantastic technique and his movement just flows beautifully, but I don't feel that connection with the audience that I get from the other three.
Lacey is OK for me. I thought she was really great when they were in the top 20, she was very consistent, but when they then went into the top 10 she started to fizzle out for me a bit.
All four are phenomenal dancers and I'd be happy if anyone of them won but I really hope Sabra takes home the prize.

Yzerbear19
August 15th, 2007, 11:12 PM
Hip Hop - It was OK, it didn't wow or blow me away.
Waltz - Beautiful! I thought they both did a really good job.
Jazz - I agreed with Mary and Nigel. I didn't get it. It was really strange.
Contemporary - Awesome! Amazing! I loved both guys, but I think I liked Danny better. Tonight was probably the first night that I actually really liked Danny's dancing.
Lindy Hop - Awesome. Very energetic. Fun. Loved it. I wish they would do more swing like dances.
Cha Cha - It was OK. The beginning wasn't very good. I didn't like the strobe lights. That was irritating.

The solos were all good, though Danny's series of leaps was awesome.

I spent 30 minutes voting for Lacy and another 30 for Danny. :)

I'm really hoping that tomorrow we can see Anya and Pasha do a latin dance . And maybe even the hummingbird dance again. :)

Sabra/Neil - Hip Hop - not bad, but not great, Sabra is a lot looser than Neil

Lacey/Danny - Viennese Waltz - Gorgeous!!! The music was a little fast and made the dancing seem a tad bit rushed, but it was absolutely lovely

Lacey/Sabra - Jazz - I really liked this piece, it reminded me a little of anime, though it might have been too much of an experiment for a finale

Danny/Neil - Contemporary - THis was good, especially once they both were out of their seats, but 2 things bothered me - (1) Danny's clapping didn't match the music and (2) it seemed to feature Danny much more (as have many of the programs involving Danny)

Lacey/Neil - Lindy Hop - This was great! I can't believe how complicated it was, and after seeing the practice clips, I was so scared for the lifts, but they got them! Good for Lacey not being too afraid (I know I would have been terrified)

Sabra/Danny - Cha Cha - I liked it, but it wasn't outstanding, while Sabra can move really well, it looked a little forced from Danny too. I too hated the strobe light thing

Solos -

I thought Lacey's was great, she kept moving and dancing instead of a lot of posing

Sabra was really good, though she looked a little off balance on some of her landings

Danny was Danny, while the leaps and spins were fantastic, and his line is gorgeous, and he is beautiful to watch, there doesn't always seem to be any passion, like he's performing so that people will watch him, instead of performing for the people, does that make sense? It's almost like watching a perfect Sasha skate - it's beautiful, but doesn't make you feel anything

Neil - while his solos have gotten better, he still does a lot of connecting tricks and I never seem to get any emotion out of him

I stand by my earlier ranking
1. Sabra
2. Lacey
3. Danny
4. Neil

I voted a lot for Sabra, but I think a guy will win again because most of the voters are teenage girls.

I'm looking forward to the finale tonight. Last year's was great, so I hope this year's will be too, though I don't love the top 4 as much as last year. THey're great, but I loved all of them last year and they were such a likeable group all-round. THis year, they just haven't grabbed my heart as much, even Sabra, who I love.

I thought it was totally unfair of Nigel to say that he wanted a girl to win because the past winners have been boys. So what--maybe the boys were just better than the girls.

The Neil/Danny dance ROCKED!

My order of preference:
Neil
Danny
Sabra
Lacey

So Lacey will probably win.

taf

I like Sabra the best & only voted for her but I think Danny is on another level than everyone else technique-wise. He is unbelievable..I don't think he's arrogant..I think it is bravado. His interview made him sound like a hurt little boy who isn't sure that anyone loves him.

My ranking:

1. Sabra..I can't keep my eyes off her...gorgeous technique & passion & energy in everything she does
2. Danny..best technique but a little disconnected from the audience
3. Neil..great showmanship but still needs a little work on technique..like he is still raising his shoulders
4. Lacey..she seems like a one-trick pony to me..her solos are all bad..she shakes her booty like a exotic dancer..some of her partner dances have been great like the mamba with Danny...I hated the Lindy hop, it was way too slow & she looked stiff.

lavender
August 16th, 2007, 09:47 PM
I love Sabra, Danny and Neil for different reasons. Lacey...I loved her first dance and she's awesome (can't deny that) but like Sasha I never connected with her overall. I only felt her emotion in her first dance. The other dances made me think..me, me, me. Sabra slowly became my favorite but she was it. I've always liked Neil. He just seems like he's so much fun. Danny was just misunderstood and not arrogant to me.

I know they thought she would win.

The whole "arrogant" thing with Danny was to try to turn him off to the viewers so that they could have a girl win. I feel like this whole season was manipulated for that end and it kind of ticks me off. They intentionally cut some of the better guys early on, while creating BS about the others. And there was no way they were going to let Lacey win. I really wanted Danny to win if Pasha couldn't. Hopefully next year the manipulation won't be as obvious.

Congrats to all the dancers. Pasha is #1 in my books! :)

Well I didn't get that feeling that they were steering results towards ladies until the very last show. Heck they loved Pasha. However, it's not like it wasn't the Lacey show to begin with. I'm happy with the results minus the fact that there should be a lady and man winner. Heck they dance as couples wayyyyyyyyyyy more than they dance solo. It's stupid not have a winner on both sides.

IMO opinion the top 2 was right but because Sabra had that something else she was able to get over the hump. Danny overall was the best dancer but as they keep reinterating it's not best...it's favorite dancer.

Sorry....I loved Benji but I had no connection with Lacey. I thought she would win and the very least come in before Neil who I like more. I'm sorry but I'm happy Neil came in 3rd over Lacey.

After seeing the Lion King routine, I realize that some of the strongest and more interesting dancers were let go early on in the series: Rickey, while not technically as strong but definitely interesting: Jessi, and Jesus. And ANya and Hok didn't make the top 10?

I really could have done without Lauren or Pasha in the top 10.

Yeah!!! Congratulations Sabra!!! :clap :clap :clap

And congratulations to all the top 4 and the top 20! Tonight's finale was packed with fabulous dancing. I'm so glad I got to see the humming bird and hobo routines again and the Lion King was great.

While seeing the band sing that cut song live was neat, I could have done without it. I also could have done without the girl who sang and the fake Nigel/Cat dance. I had really hoped to see him dance for once. :(

I wish they had cut that stuff to leave room for a final fluff piece each for Danny and Sabra - they certainly deserved it. They also cut the results really short - Sabra deserved a few more minutes on stage with cameras rolling live. They also didn't have time for final remarks from the judges on the top 2.

Overall though, I was happy with the show. I liked how they did the cuts this year as opposed to having them come out for solos in reverse order so that the dancer scheduled first knew that he/she was out.

Question - Cat said several times that Sara/Dominic were the breakers who got the furthest. What about Jamile? He made it to the finale in season 1. Wasn't he a breaker?

Jamille was not a breaker but he was a hip-hop specialist. Break dancing is a part of hip-hop as is snap, pop-lock, juke, hyphy and dance.

On season 1, Ryan Conferido was considered the b-boi specialist. Other hip-hoppers were Jamille, Alan, and that sexy girl.

So... of all the hip-hoppers, Jamille is still the one who got the farthest.

I loved every minute of every show and for once in my life the my top 2 favorites came in 1-2. Either could have won, but Sabra really did embrace the theme of the show. She wasn't a front-runner in the begining, but week by week she crept up--her dancing just got stronger and stronger. Danny, I believe like the judges, will go down in history. He's that great!

Pasha, I love! For a ballroom dancer he certainly showed alot of versitality, especially in his solos. Unlike Anya--who does great ballroom, but the talent stops there.

Hope I can see the tour!

as far as the rest of the finale.....

sarah was in a lot of favorite performances... that was actually cool.

Its interesting. Typically, I feel really strongly that one particular person either should win or should not win. I really wanted Sara to win and can't believe she was voted out before the finale. It is a tribute to her talent that she was in so many of the performances last night. She is definitely talented at more then just b-girl and the article on her was great.

I also really like Lacey. When partnering, I just couldn't see that anyone was better. She was so good technically and her performance quality was amazing. As much as I liked her though, realisticly, she needed better solos. I am actually quite surprised with Benji as her brother that she wasn't a little more prepared for that. Having said that, I really think she is amazing as a person and just see a bright future.

Sabra - of the final 4, I think she earned the win. Both the technical and performance qualities of her dancing were good. She didn't capture my attention, so I wouldn't have picked her as the winner over Sara, but unfortunately, we weren't given that choice.

Danny and Neil - I would have picked Danny over Neil just for his technical ability. Wow! And I could see the huge improvement in performance over the season. Neil - WHOA, he has some amazing tricks.

I really wish SYTYCD, would come out with a DVD of favorite performances from the 3 seasons so far. I would buy it in a heartbeat.
