Hi Everybody!
Phew...I made it out of Denver just before the blizzard. I hope everybody is having a great holiday. My sister Karen and her husband had an early Christmas party at their house. Unfortunately Karen and Peter will be going to the east coast to celebrate Christmas day with the other side of the family. It was so cute to see my two neices dance around the Christmas tree. Olivia is almost three years old and she is finally understanding the concept of Christmas. Her favorite thing is to help EVERYBODY open their presents. ha ha.....My parents gave Olivia and Sophia matching pink jacket with white fur trimming. It will be perfect for them when they go to the rink to skate!
I am planning to make Christmas Eve dinner at my house....I made a deal with my parents that if I cook they help clean up:D I am trying to enjoy all the time I have with my family and friends before I head out to Denver again. Winter quarter starts up pretty soon....then it's time to hit the books again.
My hip is feeling a lot better....shhhh....I snuck onto to the ice the other day!! I plan on getting back onto the ice soon. There's no work out like skating....I prefer the rink over the gym any day :)
I want to wish all of you a wonder Christmas and a fantastic New Year!! I miss seeing all of you!

Merry Christmas hugs to you!!!
You made my day by posting. I cannot possibly tell you how happy I am to hear from you that your hip is feeling better.
And I couldn't be more thrilled to hear you're back on the ice. I skate too and I totally understand how there is absolutely no feeling in the world like the blade gliding over the ice.
And nobody makes it more beautiful to watch than you do.!!!
Enjoy every moment of your holiday and every second on the ice.
I look forward to seeing you skate again, no matter what venue you choose to do that in.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!!!

and Happy and Merry Christmas to you Michelle. You have no idea how much you are missed. But warms our hearts to hear you are happy and continue to be generous. You've always spoken as if you had the knowledge and experience of a college graduate - actually even a higher degree in academia. The one happy thing about figure skating these days IMO is to know you are right here, right now living and having the college experience. And one of the results that is hoped for is that the graduate emerges well rounded, with a broad base of, if not knowledge, at least familiarity with the world and many disciplines. You had all of these attributes before you even set one foot on campus.
But we miss you so....
Have a wonderful and enlightening 2007 dear.

How wonderful for you to post to us! I am beyond thrilled that you got out of Denver in time, got to spend fun times with your nieces, and are feeling well. On the ice already!....well, be careful, girl. We have missed watching you in the "usual" manner. Yet, you pop up in the most marvelous ways. HUGE congrats on the State Dept assignment - and I LURVE your PSA on WE!
You have done so much for so many people over the years. I wish you the luxury of taking care of, well, one of my favorite people...YOU! Take time and care with yourself: Our marvelous treasure! I wish you love, happiness, healing, and joy this holiday and all thru 2007. Your post has made my year!
Love you always,

Thank you for taking the time to post a Christmas message, Michelle. I hope you have a fantastic Christmas with your family and enjoy this wonderful time of year. Best wishes as you cook for your family too... that is a task I could never take on myself, especially since cooking consists of soup or microwave meals for me (hey, I live alone, its the easy way out).
I also want to send my best wishes as you begin winter quarter. I hope you are enjoying your time spent back at school!!
You are such a class act, and we certainly miss your presence on the ice... but more importantly, we miss you and what you always gave to us as fans!!! We'll have to agree to disagree on who misses whom more.
All the best, today and always. Have a VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS and a (super duper) HAPPY NEW YEAR. :) Take it easy on the ice, but I do hope you can return to the "exercise" that truly makes your heart tick!!

Oh, Michelle! You made me fall in love with you all over again with your sweet sweet post. You made me feel like I was reading my best friend's email. Thank you so much for your lovingkind-thoughtfulness. I miss seeing you on ice very much, but you know your health comes first. Please take as long time as you need for a full recovery and come back even when you are considered a "dinosaur" in competitive skating world. May all your wishes come true, Michelle. Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to you and MKF:) !

We were talking about a certain issue and somebody would jump in and then somebody else would jump in, and it was very interesting, very stimulating," she said. "It wasn't like you sit up in a press conference and say, 'Yes, I messed up the triple lutz and I flipped out and the music was really loud and the people were great.'
Your mind is always working, and to have that stimulate you and be exhausted from your brain working, it's a little different. Usually after skating I'd watch TV, have dinner and take a nap. That's what my day consisted of. I liked it, too. But this is something different. I know it's such a 180. And I love it."
Now THAT's ^^^^^^what I'm talking about - enjoying the college experience. I miss being in college - took me 12 years (older student with job, kids etc) but even though I didn't enjoy all those term papers (degree is in History) I miss the brain stimulation. but I still will add what I first posted to you dear Michelle:
You've always spoken as if you had the knowledge and experience of a college graduate - actually even a higher degree in academia. The one happy thing about figure skating these days IMO is to know you are right here, right now living and having the college experience. And one of the results that is hoped for is that the graduate emerges well rounded, with a broad base of, if not knowledge, at least familiarity with the world and many disciplines. You had all of these attributes before you even set one foot on campus.
....reminds me a bit about Natalie Portman at Harvard -
Have a wonderful 2nd term and 2007. You are always with us.

...Merry Christmas, Michelle!

just want to tell you that I miss you too and you had been and continue to be my inspiration. Hope you're enjoying school and it'll continue to open more windows for you intellectually and will also open more doors to many possibilities where you could continue to share your grace and beauty with us.
Have fun at the party in your house tonight. Wish you & your family a Merry Christmas and 2007 filled with joy, good health and good fortune.

I was so excited, I didn’t even notice the little “error” in your post...though...psssst...it’s “Kwanderful Christmas!!” actually...it’s aight, don’t worry...and yeah...shhhhhh...iway on'tway elltay ouryay octorday aboutway ouyay eakingsnay ontoway ethay iceway...shhhhh...oh yeah, and thanks for the PM...no, actually I didn’t know the rain in Spain falls mainly in the plain...*chuckle* Oh Michelle...*sigh*
Saying “I miss you” would be the understatement of the year...so I’ll say, everyday that I don’t see you feels like a dagger slipping deeper and deeper into my soul, and every competition that I watch without you is like someone pouring salt in the wound...and not that cheap generic salt either, Michelle...Morton's!
Please, PLEASE come visit us again, soon!

Oh, one more thing Michelle...I work in education, and I need to make sure you know the system. If you get your grades and you happen to get a score of 4.0 or 3.8 or something in that area, that's *good*! I know you're used to seeing 6.0s, but in education we don't go that high. Just a little info to help you out from this old college instructor :D.
And yes, I have quotes from you on my syllabus :8. You're the best role model there is! Love you, Michelle!!!

I was hoping you would write in. It’s so nice of you to remember us. I’m so happy to hear things are going well for you.
I was reading the book John Adams by David McCullough and thought this would interest you on page 259.
John Adams writes to his son John Quincy: “You are now at a university where many of the greatest men have received their education.” Yet when John Quincy asked if he might buy ice skates that winter, Adams consented without hesitation, explaining that skating should be considered a fine art. “It is not simple velocity or agility that constitutes the perfection of it, but grace.”
You are the personification of that ideal.
Merry Christmas and best wishes for the New Year.

Dear Michelle,
Thank you so much for taking time to post. We have certainly missed you! And mum's the word on sneaking onto the ice!
I gave myself an early Christmas present by watching your SP & LP from 98 Nationals as we flew towards LA. I think I may have been watching as we flew over Lake Arrowhead.
What can I say about you that we all haven't said already. The joy on your face during those programs says it all!
Have a very merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

What else can be said about this beatiful Christmas gift you gave to us? Thank you so much! I was so excited when I saw that you had posted and I am so glad that you're feeling better and enjoying the break from school. Have fun with your family! I have to say, I got teary-eyed when I read that you snuck onto the ice! Your passion is so inspiring. I hope to have that much passion for what I choose in life.
I don't know that I can say more than what's already been said, so instead of repeating all of that....know this Michelle, you are loved. More than you can imagine, we love you as a skater, as a person, and (now!!) as a representative of the USA. I said in a thread a while back that what makes you so special is you're such a genuine person - one that I would point to as a role model without a second thought.
Whatever you choose to do, Michelle, Don't give up - You are loved!

Michelle, I just knew that you would be posting here wishing us all a Merry Christmas. I am so happy you made it home and away from Denver before the blizzard hit. My daughter came home from St. Louis and I was glad the roads were clear for them. I am happy that your hip is feeling better and what a wonderful cheer for us here on the forum to know that everything is going in the right direction. I am also happy that you have started skating again, it is good therapy. I hope your studies are all going fine and I know you are making straight A's you know they are kinda like 6.0's. It's good to hear that everyone in your family is doing fine. We get to see Peter on TV every once and awhile and sometime Karen.

I miss seeing all of you!
xo MK
Merry Christmas Michelle.....and congrats on your new post at the State department!!! Say hello to Condi for me..:) We love you here at MKF...you and your family will always be in our hearts..:)

Thanks for all your amazing performances over the years.

Thanks very much for posting Michelle! You are always so great to everyone, especially your fans. I hope you and your family had a wonderful Christmas. It is our family tradition to have Christmas Eve dinner and open all our presents then. Our favorite part of the dinner is the fried Won Tons my dad started making up when we were kids. He passed away in 2003, but we keep this tradition alive in his honor.
I'm very happy to read that your hip is feeling better. I could see that you were in such pain after skating at the COI show in Anaheim this year. Thank you most humbly for the many once in a lifetime performances that made me cry. There will never be another like you for me. Whatever you choose to do in the future, I wish you good fortune!
Best Wishes to You and Yours for Health, Happiness and Love in the coming New Years!

I am so happy to hear from you. Skating is just not the same without you. I am glad to hear that your hip is doing better. I wish you well on your recory, but try to take one day at a time.
Enjoy life and all that it has to offer. When I got out of cheerleading and gymnastics, it was a hard adjustment. Over time, I learned to enjoy life. It was fun to go out with friends, date, go to parties, and just hang out. I missed a lot of that throught high school and college, but I wouldn't have traded anything.

Not only am I late, but I just found PM’s wishing me Merry Christmas that I haven't answered. :O I should log in more often, but the season’s been so dull without you, it’s hard to.
Thank you for sharing a part of your life with us. I'm glad you enjoyed yourself. I'm glad you're getting better.
I spent the Holidays with friends and family, too. We had a very nice Christmas and New Years party.
My little boutique is doing very well, and I’m now only selling my own designs!
They’ve set up a room so I can work on them while I’m here as well. I’m working on an evening gown right now that I think I’m going to name “Michelle” after, guess who? hehe I was originally going to use burgundy silk taffeta, but I’ve now decide to go with the baby blue in honour of your, Lyra Angelica. It's one of my favs. :)
Happy New year. God bless. We love you sooo much!
