Hey, Michelle! For those of us who are "figure skating challenged" but who love watching the sport anyway, you are a dream come true. I can barely stand up on ice skates. Yet, when you skate, I feel as if I am skating. Thanks for taking me along on your flight across the ice. It is truly exhilarating! But there is so much more to you than just being a skater. You set an example to live by for all ages. I'm 49 years old and am in awe of how much I have learned from you. What I like the most is that you take responsibility for who you are and what you do. You are gracious in victory. You fulfill your commitments. You don't whine when things don't go your way. You are a living example of the quote: "It’s not the way you fall, it's how you get up." To adequately credit you for all you have done for children, for women's sports, for your fans, and for advancing the art of figure skating, I would have to write a book. If I were to write that book, I would title it: "All I Needed to Know In Life I Learned by Watching Michelle Kwan Grow Up As a Figure Skater." Good Luck at UCLA. I'm so glad that you decided to go to college at this point in your life. Once again, you are an outstanding role model for youth everywhere. Your message is loud and clear: EDUCATION IS IMPORTANT!!! I'll be rooting for you to achieve the first 6.0 GPA. GO MICHELLE!
