I'm just curious how many people are thinking of going. I'd love to go...although I don't know if I can afford it:)! I forget if it was on here or FSW, but someone posted the cost of a ticket being $400-500 and something about holding a lottery if there were more people wanting tickets than seats avialable. Also, I don't know if the location plans are changing since that tornado hit the original venue, but I wouldn't want to get stuck in seats from where I couldn't see parts of the ice (like people said at nationals)...big screens wouldn't really do it for me. But, then again, just to *BE* there might make it worth it. And I don't know how early we'd have to buy the tickets, and I hate to say this, but what if somehow MK decided against going after we already broke the bank on tickets, the flight, the hotel, etc.?!?! I don't know. *SO*, I was just wondering what everyone else's tentative plans/thoughts are...thanks:)!

Boo-hoo, no one answered:(. Does that mean you're not going, or that you don't know yet...or that you just didn't feel like responding? I'm really curious. Just givin' it one more try:)!

You are not alone, Kara! I have been thinking about it and talking about it too. My concerns are same also when I read that a ticket(ladies final) will be about $500... then you have to add flight and hotel, etc... I am positive that Michelle will be there though. When and if I go, I need to be with fellow MK fan. Reasons are : 1. I don't think I can take the suspense alone. I'll be so nervous for Michelle! I'll probably either grind my teeth or won't be able to watch. 2. Need somebody to share my emotion. I want to wave a banner or sign. And scream and cry... (would be rather embarassing to do these things alone.) 3. It'll be probably tough to find a reasonable hotel accommodation, therefore need a roomy.

I too, would absolutly LOVE to go to the 2002 Olympics. The only problem is that none of my skaters are there. Tara Lipinki and Ekaterina Gordeeva are my number one skaters, but they are both pros now. :( I'd probobly root for Amber Corwin, Erin Pearl, Sarah Hughes or Michelle Kwan. It depends on who makes the team. ~Leia~

I too want to go to the 2002 Olympics. But I have know idea what situation I will be in by then so I don't think it would be wise to try and get tickets before...2001!

I have requested information when available and am considering going. It will definitely depend on cost. However it will never be any less expensive (unless they hold the winter O's in LA:^). I have already purchased my exhibition tickets to the 2002 Nationals...just in case I don't make it to the O's, I can give Michelle a big send off at home!!! Anna

I'd love to go but its WAY out of my price range :-( Are any of you dreading the fact that its live so you can't get the results beforehand? I'm chicken so I like seeing the results beforehand so I can relax and enjoy the performance or know what's coming. I love Michelle so much that the suspense kills me.

Marcella - I'm the same way!!! During the Olympics I called people all day long. No surprises for me!!! I think it would be worth the tension to "be there" though. Anna

I really want to go but it's way out of my price range! If I live near Salt Lake City, I might consider going. Now, a ticket being $400-500 is a lot of money! I didn't know that! (Hi Kara! I just sent you an email!). Marcella ~ How did you get the cow to appear there? It is SO COOL!!!! I LOVE COWS!! MOOOO! MOO! I collect anything that relates to cows! hehe :-)

Banannak, did you say you have already purchased your ticket to 2002 Natl's? I live in L.A. and was plannig on going to Natl's instead of Olys. I had no idea that they were on sale yet. Where did you purchase them? Thanks

http://www.slc2002.org/ they should have info on tickets there... To use an image under your name you need to Log In and click on Edit Preferences. then put in the address of the image you want to use in the Personel Photo and check the box underneath so it will automatically come up when you post. You can also add a personel signature and if it is more than one line use {br} for a return but replace the { and } with < and > or it won't work. If you want to center something use {center} but again replace the { } with < >.

If all goes as planned, I will be attending both the 2002 Nationals in Los Angeles and the Olympics in SLC. In order to help with the $$ and lottery for getting tix, I would ideally like to volunteer again, as I did last February at Nationals. I'm already signed up (via the official SLC2002 webpage) as a potential volunteer, and I think the fact that I worked there already helps my chances of getting assigned to skating again (since that was one of their "test events" for volunteers). Even if volunteering doesn't work out, I still think I will go. I've already warned my uncle that I will be showing up at his door no matter what!

I can't stand not knowing the results beforehand! I get all nervous in wondering what happened! During the '98 Olys I went right on the Internet to see what the results were! (I know, I'm a wimp!) Jen75, you can actually volunteer at the event?? Wow! Do you get to meet a lot of the skaters? What do you do? And Marcella, I love your cow! It's so cute when it blinks!

I would really love to see Michelle and possibly Sarah Hughes skate live at the Olympic Games but I didn't think that the tickets would be that much... the tickets for the 1996 Olympics for womens gymnastics were only about $150.00 (for what type of seat I don' know). I looked on the SLC web site but I couldn't find a price for the tickets does anyone know where I could find the EXACT price? My dad and mom said they would LOVE to take me (if they could)... but I know they wouldn't LOVE to pay over or around $1,000.00 just for three tickets to one event. :)

KwanFan00 - I don't think you can find out exactly how much yet. I bet they'll wait a while to post that...and I wonder...if they can generate as much interest as possible will they then REALLY hike up the price bcz they think people will pay it no matter how high it is? I'm not sure if that's "allowed" or not, but I hope they don't do that! Chippy - I agree about having another MK fan to share it with...I'm already working on my mom:)! She's a pretty big fan, too. Everybody else - Thanks for answering...I'm glad I gave it another try:). I really do want to be there. If/when some of us go, we'll have to set up a meeting time or something to generate some major Kwan-Fan positive energy:)!

Thanks for the cow compliments. The cow is courtesy of ShallahK. THANKS SHALLAHK :-) I'm glad to know that I am not the only wimp who finds out results beforehand. Maybe if any of you are lucky enough to go you could give us reports on what it is like. I know I would appreciate it!

This will be my best chance at seeing the winter olympics in person, not to mention, Michelle! I am planning on attending! I've already started saving up for the tickets! I only hope I can get some. And being the way I am, I want to go to all the figure skating events (not likely!) but I'll be happy with the ladies event. I too will need to sit with MK fans that will be biting, tearing, eating, ripping etc, etc, everything in sight! It will be hard to stay calm, but I've wanted to experience the Olympics since 1988 and I see this one as my best chance. So who am I meeting up with there to root Michelle on?!

hey redsfan, i'll meet up with you if i end up going:). i think we should work out a meeting place for all the mk fans from here who are attnding...but we should probably wait for anohter 2 years before beginning to plan:).

Since the event is going to be held at the Delta Center, which I heard wouldn't allow banners and signs, you can't even see the skaters a lot of the time, and the skaters look like they are skating in a hole. Why the heck do I want to pay a thousand bucks to watch the skaters on a TV screen when I can do the same thing at home for free? At the rate things are going, I don't know if I want to go anymore unless I can get a volunteer job or something.

I was planning on going but after reading all you guys talk about the ticket prices, obscure seating, and no signs allowed!! I am serously reconsidering it! No signs!! what kind of Cr@p is that?!?! Next they'll be telling us not to cheer for the skaters. I think that I will definitely go to the 2002 Nationals instead now, especially since I live in Los Angeles.

Jennie, are you going to 2002 Nationals? I want to go and I read that someone already had their tickets. Do you? Do you have any idea when they would go on sale? I am going to be there no matter what. I thought about going to the olys but it makes more sense for me to go to Nationals. It might be more exciting, like '98! I really don't have anyone to go with, has anybody gone by themselves to an event like this? If so, did you have fun? Would it be worth going by yourself?

Actually, I had gotten it a while ago and I don't remember the site I got it from. I know there are some sites with icons around.

Rene, I haven't bought my tickets yet because I am looking for someone to go with (especially since I am going to buy an all-event pacakge). Maybe we should buy our tickets together :) There is an official website and the tickets are already on sale. Here is the link. http://www.la2002.com

Delta Center does not sound great unless you got a VIP seats or something. Yes, I still want to go too, if I could afford a decent ticket. No banners, no signs....? I have a better idea. How about a "MK Hat"!? and "MK sweat shirt" I saw "Philipp Candelolo Hat" worn by his fans at Nagano Olys.

I would love to go to the 2002 Nationals as well as the Olympics, though my parents taking me to both is probably highly unlikey. I would make some T-shirts that say "This is what a Kwanatic looks like" or something like that. :) I would have a big banner so that ABC could show me in the crowd holding it and so I could show everyone that I'm a big fan. I would bring stuff to through on the ice for Michelle Kwan and Sarah Hughes... :)

decorated with, say, Imzadi's latest wall paper design (or any of the great graphic designs appeared on this web site)? That way, we all know who we are, and we will have instant friends. Oops! May be we should ask the permission of these artists first!
