I DREAD THE DAY WHEN MICHELLE TURNS PRO. WE PROBABLY WON'T HEAR THAT MUCH ABOUT HER ANYMORE. IT SEEMS THAT I NEVER HEAR ABOUT MY OTHER FAVORITE SKATERS SINCE TURNING PRO....KRISTI, NANCY, CARYN KADAVY. THE ONLY TIME I HEAR ABOUT OKSANA IS WHEN SHE IS IN SOME TYPE OF TROUBLE. THE ONLY TIME I HEAR ABOUT TARA IS WHEN SHE IS ON SOME TV SHOW. I AM NOT EVEN SURE ABOUT ALL THE OTHER PROS. I THINK WE HAD BETTER ENJOY AND APPRECIATE MICHELLE WHILE WE CAN. THESE NEXT 2 AMATEUR, I MEAN OLYMPIC ELIGIBLE--EXCUSE ME-- YEARS WILL GO BY REALLY FAST. WHEN EVER SHE TURNS PRO, I WILL PROBABLY STOP WATCHING OLYMPIC ELIGIBLE SKATING. THERE WILL BE NO JOY IN IT FOR ME ANY LONGER.

I agree with you to some extent...but Tara isn't a good example...it seems that since she turned pro she has avoided entering any competition where Michelle would be competing....and I myself see plenty of alot of the pro skaters..I haven't seen Kristi this year yet unfortunatly..but they had a rock n roll special?? I don't remember exactly what it was but there were bands playing and singers like tlc singing and pro skaters skating...although I agree with you about not wanting Michelle to go pro I think that after she's done with her Olympic Eligable career she has a lot to look forward to being pro...just think if her artistry is this amazing now imagine how much it will improve once she doesn't have to Worry about the things that she does now...such as competitions and jumps. and I myself look forward to a Tara/Michelle "rematch" I also look forward to Michelle doing things like fast fun music..I think she will flourish in the professional world and when her time comes I'll be glad for her. I just hope it doesn't come *too* soon because I DO Love watching her now on tv...but I also have developed new "favorites". No one can hold a flame to Michelle in my eyes, but NNN is soo cute I can't wait to see what she will accomplish..and Sarah Hughes has improved so much since nationals last year. so whenever Michelle DOES decide to go pro I think we have a lot to look forward to as the new skaters that are coming out now show lots of potential.

I really am tired of reading all these speculation post of Michelle going pro. Gives me heartburn, that. I for one hopes she never turns pro, not for a long long long time, way past 2006 Olys even. I know it's only just an "if" thing, but I'd rather we jump that hurdle when she actually decides that, not now. It can't be good for her to read all these topics for her to go pro when she hasn't even peaked yet. Even if most of the people hope she stays eligible, seeds of doubt can always be planted.

Mano I am with you, I don't want to think about MK turning pro yet. As for people not seeing Kristi I think it is b/c she is planning her wedding. I think her wedding is either in June or July but I am pretty sure that is why we haven't heard much about her this year. I do look forward to the day when we see MK up against Tara, I think that MK would win hands down especially in the artistry department. Please don't anyone take offense to that statement.

It keeps coming up, so far I haven't got an ulcer yet. Like it or not MK is growing up so fast. When I watched her on tv at 13 holding a HUGE orange and sat on her grandpa's lap, I never could imagine that she would turned into such a beautiful sexy young woman. She just entered college, and kids at college age really grow up in the speed of lightning. I hope she will stay elligible till 2006, even if she turns pro after 2002, that is still ok, at least she will still be skating. Lets just hope she does not retire period after 2002. Now folks, don't shoot me, but that has crossed my mind.

I just ignore those because they are the ones in denial. My feeling is should all the skaters who never make it on the podium or win gold all the time retire. Michelle is still the best or at least one of the best. Why are they hating on her. All of the naysayer have someone they can root for and have the possibility of winning now so why not just be happy with that but it's not over yet. Win or lose it will be hard to see michelle as pro.

If Michelle will quite competitive skating completely (maybe do some commentating or special shows) after her eligable years or over and become like a lawyer or whatever.... or if she'll turn pro. What do you guys think?

I don't want to think about it...but when and if she turns pro, she will be everywhere. Kristi was in alot, but she is now almost 8 years removed from the OLY. and is planning a wedding. unfortunately, we never see Midori, Nancy is a Mom and that's great, Roz doesn't compete, Kat shouldn't..Witt that is, yuka is in pairs, and LULU has been a professional disappointment. Oksana is over the edge, Surya doesn't do it for me, and Tara...no comment...Nicole said it nicely and so did mnay on this forum and FSW. No wonder I love seeing Dorothy. If Michelle does turn pro, after 2002, she will be the Queen, for sure. She'll tour, have her own holiday shows...I am not that upset about the thought. I would like to see her turn pro w an OLY gold medal, but if not, it's ok.

Tara did not avoid entering any competition where Michelle was competing. During her first professional season, she was under contract with CBS and I some other organization. Tara could not compete against Michelle at World Pros because it would have been a violation of her contract to appear on NBC. The contract was only for one season, though, so Tara was able to go to World Pros this season. Of course, Candid Productions turned it back into a strictly professional event, so Michelle couldn't go this year. I agree about Naomi and Sarah... I can't wait to see what they'll accomplish in their careers. I would like to see Michelle and Tara compete again one day, but if and when Michelle goes pro, I'd actually like to see her on SOI. I'd really love to see them skating in the same cast and doing group numbers together. That would be too cool for a totally devoted Michelle/Tara fan such as myself! :-)

I have an uncomfortable feeling that Mk will actually retire once her elligible days are over, and pursue education and fall in love and get married. Yes Mano, she will probably marry a hockey player 6 years her senior just teasing. I never want her to work for Scott. I think she is very grounded with COI, and it is not likely that she will switch to SOI. I love COI much better than SOI.

knows how to put things in perspective for me(albeit a fictional one). BTW, I lowered my price for your suit at FSW.
