What did you guys think? My dad didn't like it, but my mom and I LOVED it:)! It felt like we were seeing the old Michelle with her bangs pulled back...she looked so cute and sweet I thought! It made me feel so much better when I saw that first shot of her backstage in costume. I just am still glowing over a mere hair style, hehe:). Any other opinions?

I think it was an emergency "do" to keep the hair out of her face. On FSW someone referred to it as a Samarai style....Maybe she will grow it out.

I didn't care for it either. Her hair is so beautiful down now, I wish she would wouldn't have pulled it back. It's probably difficult to skate with hair in your face though, so I can understand that she needs to get it out of the way.

Just read the article there that says that MK pulled back her hair Saturday night to "look younger." Isn't that as bizarre as anything you can imagine? Younger than 19? Do you really think MK told somone that's why she did it? I am starting to really get p----d at the fantasies that are in these articles. Opinions are one thing, but.....making up stuff....?????

I am glad that she is growing it out...can't wait until it is back to her shoulder length. I loved it pulled back and thought it looked great, although, it probably would have suited ADITL better then RV...none the less, I liked it. Hopefully she'll do the same at Worlds or something similar...how about a head band, would that work for Michelle?

I didn't particularly care for it but I can see that it would be better to keep it out of her face. i think a head band would be great for her while she's growing out (possibly?) her hair. it's at an awkward length but i think a head band would be nicer looking that the way she had it yesterday.

I'm with Jordi--I didn't really like her hairstyle and wish she'd just cut it short again. I'm hoping that's what she'll do for the summer (although, we probably won't see it will we?). I think this style was just to get her hair out of her face for now. That said, I think Michelle looks pretty no matter how she does her hair.

Of course, Michelle always looks classy and lovely no matter what she does with her hair. That said, I am one of those people who is still mourning the loss of her bun. To me it added to the beautiful, elegant look she has on the ice. I wonder if her Olympic music is really elegant and she wants to look the part. I guess we'll just have to wait and find out...

yeah, the short hair did take her back a couple years. Maybe she did it to reduce the disparity between her and the baby ballerinas (not like she needed to). Anyways, I still like the short hair. I think it's getting long to the point where it needs a lot of maintenance. I liked it best the way it was at Skate America. Very elegant.

Jubal - I, too, am one of those who still loves the bun:). This was the closest we got to it, so that's part (but not all) of why I liked it. It reminded me of the cute little do Elena B. had recently before she went red/brown...but she wore barettes, instead. Very sweet and pure, real and fresh. Maybe, since it's just pulled back and not so styled, it highlights the natural/honest/pure quality of her skating...maybe? Like she didn't spend all kinds of time working on a "busy" style, that doesn't fit her skating, she just swept it back and we clearly see her fresh face, not her hair. BTW, I did think it made her look younger, and *if* that had something to do with why she did it (not that it did), I wouldn't blame her for a second. She is young, and maybe the judges need to remember that. Also, I thought it fit TRV *better* than ADITL bcz ADITL is more "hip" or something, like a short hairstyle would be, and TRV is more serene or "clear" like the bangless look is. And who the heck is calling it samurai style at FSW:(? I'm gonna have to march myself over there right now:). (P.S. Sorry, I should've checked the spoilers board first bcz I see someone started this topic over there before I did here...I *think* they liked her hair better on that thread. A simple bun ... or hair nicely pulled back is the true sign of elegance. Michelle already looke dcrisper with her hair pulled back... GROW IT OUT BABY!!!!!! I hate the Sydney Vogel, Shelby Lyons, Angela Nikodinov, 1994 Yuka Sato, 1994 Chen Lu, and 1999 Michelle Kwan do's...
