The spot on the home page -- where they put a SMALL pic of Johnny, after it was originally pointed out how they omitted the 3 time US champ from the Nats site -- has been replaced with another pic of Evan to promote Evan's recent appearance in Spokane. I couldn't find Johnny anywhere else on the site. I like Evan just fine, but it is an outrage to diss Johnny like this. :fryingpan

Ya that's not right. Both are great skaters, but Johnny is still the reigning champion.

That does suck, I agree. There are multiple pages with Sasha; it doesn't seem like it would have been too terribly hard to replace just one of those with Johnny.

I don't think that the USFSA is Johnny's biggest fan right now. Which is strange and ridiculous, but...whatever. The way I see it, Johnny just needs to kick some butt next season. I know he had a lot of difficulties last season with preparing his long program, injuries, etc. If he comes healthy and prepared next season and skates like how we know he CAN, USFS will promote him.

On the main page Kimmie rather than Sasha is shown---that is also strange, unless Sasha has notified USFSA that she won't be there. Sasha is shown in subsequent pages.

The pictures on other than the home page seem to change--sometimes there are 2 or 3 of Michelle and one of Sasha. Then that is reversed when I review. But no Johnny at all.

Michelle is shown on one page in her Bolero costume, great pic. I was never fond of the Bolero costume, but after seeing this pic---which has a softer look---I've changed my mind. I'm computer challenged---can anyone briefly tell me how to download(probably wrong terminology) this pic. Michelle's face is absolutely exquisite in this pic.

The four photos in the slide show appear to have been selected based on who placed highest at Worlds. Thus, there is Kimmie instead of Sasha and Evan instead of Johnny. (The main USFSA site still has Johnny and Sasha in the home page montage.) I have no problem with this, since the point of the Spokane site is to build interest/sell tickets for 2007 Nationals. It makes sense to promote those who have done the best most recently.

Yes, Johnny should have a pic somewhere. Possibly in place of Michelle, since she did not compete in 2006 and can't compete in 2007 unless she goes through qualifying. They should keep her photo there until the deadline for registering for qualifying, then replace her with Johnny if she chooses not to compete this year. It's almost misleading for them to be using her photo to promote the event, since it's so uncertain that she'll be there.

The pages are coded to randomly select a picture from the .../random/ directory; if you refresh a page enough times you'll find everyone displayed on it.

They really should add some more pictures to their random gallery. They have 3 ladies, 1 guy, and a dance team.

Is a little variety too much to ask? 3 ladies, 3 men, 3 dance, 3 pairs. Makes sense to me.

It doesn't really surprise me that Johnny is not featured on that site. After all, he isn't exactly the darling of the USFSA these days, reigning US champ or not.

Ticket sales must be slacking off .. so the USFS is dusting off the old "pro-Evan, anti-Johnny" conspiracy stunt. After all, the USFS does not control this website

Seriously -- I posted on another thread an article on Johnny getting hate mail and death threats after Olys -- maybe, the Spokane outfit who is running the website (Not the USFS!) got scared off.

I see no problem in promoting Evan over Johnny. He has 2 world medals and was the highest US finisherer at the Olympics, just missing a medal....I would promote him too. JMO

I just went to the site, and he is the fifth picture to pop up. I love that shot of Tanith and Ben, but what picture don't I like? They are so striking.

Maybe they added Johnny in after I wrote & complained. GOldenMichelle, I have no problem with them promoting Evan at all. My problem was not promoting Johnny.

They seem to show different pictures on certain of the pages everytime you go... if you click on the news page once it is Michelle, the next is Sasha... It iseemsthey are trying to feature everyone with out inundating the site with too many pictures

ITA. and Evan showed more determination and fighting spirit through last season, while Johnny, as a national champion, didn't show that much. a promotion should choose the better one to promote.
