There seems to have been very little news about the Japanese women. Are they in Torino? Were any of them at the OC? Where are they practising? Curious minds want to know.

They have been showing the Japanese ladies, Fumie and Shizuka, on Olympic Ice while they were practicing. They talked about their strenghts and weaknesses, that's about it. I haven't heard anything else.

Their federation and coaches are wisely protecting them from the media the same way the Russian pairs coach did his pairs

I'm rooting for Shizuka and Fumie.
Go Japan!

I think it is a good idea, for security reasons.

I think they were also at the same practice rink as Sasha and Kimmie. They had different practice times, so they all didn't practice at once. I'm sure we'll get more info this weekend with them all back in the area! Go Fumie and Shiz!!!

I'm kinda ticked with NBC for how little coverage they've given the Japanese women. THey only talk about Irina and Sasha as medal contenders. Not that I'm suprised... but I'm still a little miffed by it! i really really hope the Japanese women kick some serious you-know-what and then NBC will have to show them!! I know it's a pipe dream, but I really hope one of the Japanese woman take the gold.

I agree. NBC should be showing the Japanese women some respect.
I wouldn't be surprised to see a Japanese woman on the podium, way up on the podium that is......

Has Irina really gotten more coverage than the Japanese team? I mean, I know she's brought up when they talk about contender for the Gold, but it seems like all the US reporters are concentrating on the US team. Maybe they were basically in seclusion as well and that we'll see/hear much more about them now.
