I just watched FOG for the first time since the SLC Olys and ...:bow. I can't get over what a beautiful program it is, Eva Cassidy's singing and MK skating is just a magical combination.

I used to be a every-4-years figure skating fan and have recently switched over. Watching FOG made me "get" MK's skating. Now I have two versions of this performance on my computer and am going to get the CD (thank you MK and MKF for introducing me to Eva Cassidy!). It's interesting to see the difference in emotions between the SLC and Worlds performance. I find the SLC one especially poignant because the bittersweet 02 Olys experience for MK fits the lyrics and mood of the song so well.

I hope you don't mind my rambling since I'm so behind with everything MK and FOG has probably already been discussed on this board. But I just had to post after watching it!

I don't mind the rambling... its always good to hear people's opinions... even if it has been discussed... It is one of my all time favorite programs from anyone....

It is my favorite too. I actually fell asleep before Michelle skated (VCR running) and I heard my sister watching from another part of the house say softly, oh she's crying, and I woke up to see her tear-stained face. Waaaaaaaaaaaaa. Of course, then I actually watched the performance and cried along with Michelle!

Did you watch Michelle's Olympic 2002 Exhibition??

It is the most touching program she did. The part towards the end when she goes down on one knee, holds her hands out and then cradles them to her chest...I bawl like a baby!! :bawl That's the most emotional part of the performance.

It's so beautiful and so sad. I don't want to see another performance like that this year. The beautiful sadness can be there, but it has to be a "I'm sad because I won't be in another Olympics but at least I've got my gold medal" kind of sad. Not the "I'm sad because this is my third time and my dream has officially died" kind of sad. I hope you get what I mean...
