I think the best decade for singles skating was 1990 to 1999!

1. You had men and women attempting Quads and Triple axels!

2. Programs regularly yielded 5-7 triples!

3. And SOME of the best skaters of all time [IMHO] competed here! Midori Ito, Tonya Harding, Nancy Kerrigan, Kristi Yamaguchi, Surya Bonali, Lu Chen, Yuka Sato, Maria Butyrskaya, Irina Sluts, KWEEN!!!, Tara, Nicole Bokek, Todd, Yagudin, Evgeny, Stoijko, Candeloro, Urmanov...

Sure they weren't perfect all the time, but EACH had that once in a life time skate! lol, Kwan had them often!

well if we can count a decade as a ten year span of time, then my vote is for 1996 to 2006 :-)

I agree, and I think the highlight of the '90s was 1996. You had amazing performances by MK, Lu Chen, Todd Eldredge, Rudy Galindo, Irina, Ilya Kulik... amazing year.

LOL, lisa...i never thought about that...

but michelle's decade is like a baker's dozen...just add a few more years in that...

1993-2007 [wishful thinking!]

IMO the 1996 World Ladies Championship final is the finest World competition I've ever seen. Lu Chen gets a 6.0 as does Michelle, what a way to win a World competition. And of course Rudy and Todd. I love 1996.

I would definately say the best figure skating decade lies within 1996 and 2006.
